What made Anambra so poor 4 years ago that its poverty rate was almost 1.5 that of Oyo? And what has happened between then and now to put it ahead within 4 years? That's bullshit. Like I told another dishonest fellow like you yesterday, you can fake your gdp and poverty rate but igr is something hard to fake. Governors would rather give lower values for IGR than give accurate values. IGR is a pointer to how well your economy is doing. It means the economy of the south east is largely unorganized and smaller than what is given. You are the same person that said California was poorer than Texas. grin Even an idiotic child who knows one or two things about America should know without checking that California is richer than Texas.

Yes, the East can rise one day and become the best place in the world but not with specimens like you who don't ask questions and just want to gloat.
So a few things here, Even your snapshot shows that Anambra was not so poor 4 years ago please go and check what you posted.
Please explain how to fake IGR and poverty rate.
Again, you are writing a new chapter in Economics. US IGR was lower in 2018 than in 2016 yet their economy grew much more so you don't know what you are saying.

I said I am not excited about the poverty rate of the east. It's nothing to gloat about. You were the one gloating about IGR as it it means anything. The SE should be the poverty capital of Nigeria but it's the opposite. There is a lesson there for you but people like you never learn.

I am sure you don't know that there is a relationship between poverty and out of school kids Mr Nobel.
The SW used to be no 1 in education. It's clear that things are really going wrong in the SW. The SW is the only region in Nigeria that does not have an excuse to be poor. The Nigerian experiment have been fair to the zone. So when we begin to see decay and failures in the system, we should all be alarmed.
Education vs IGR, which is a more important metrics to you sir? Would you be surprised if in the next 4 years, the gap keeps getting wilder between the zones?
The SW was know for education in the days of Awo but that's now old glory. Yet you expect poverty not to be on a rise.

Like I told you, it's easier to fake poverty rate than to fake IGR. If the governor reports high IGR he has to explain how he spent it. So Oyo state declaring high igr is quite unquestionable. It shows the Oyo economy is more formal than the one in Anambra and bigger too. But then I can lie about poverty rate so that people would think I'm doing well as governor. Because how do you explain anambra state being behind Oyo state perpetually only for it to go higher in 4 years later? You need to ask your governors hard question instead of running to Yorubaland. grin

The SW was know for education in the days of Awo but that's now old glory. Yet you expect poverty not to be on a rise.

And yet the East is worse than the SW in terms of multidimensional poverty which even affect children more. According to the UN:

Across the geo-political zones, the child MPI shows higher poverty in the North-East and North-West (where 90% of children are poor) and lower poverty in the South-East and South-West (74% and 65.1% respectively)
Despite the fact that you people make poverty index worse in the SW by swelling up the population. Your people are in their millions in SW. So it leads to more per capita poverty in the west.

The west is still a bastion of education in Nigeria. Most of the out of school children in the Sw are northerners. I see them here everyday in Ibadan and it infuriates me. Little hausa fulani children and their mothers begging on the street instead of being in school and they are very many here in the SW unlike in the East. You know all of you non- yoruba nigerians must always come to Yoruba land to make it. So you keep swelling up our population and sharing our resources with us. You pull down own stats and yet you are still basically behind in most things.

Now you are blaming everyone for your poverty and out of school kids. People like you are the very problem of the SW.
What data do you have to show that the Fulani are responsible for the out of school kids in the west. We have Fulani in the East and all over the country.
The Igbos actually make the SW poverty index better and not worse.
If the Igbos make it worse then how come Lagos with the largest Igbo population has some of the best index.

Oga when did the Igbos come to Lagos? Even before the 60s the Igbos were in Lagos. But that's not important. If Igbos make the SW poorer then Lagos should be the poorest state in Nigeria because it has the biggest collection of Igbos in the world.
What data do you have to show that Hausa are more in the SW. Hausas are everywhere oga.
You just keep saying things without any data.

Please can you explain how the Igbos stress your resources? Are you feeding them or housing them?

The Russian did the same and it also lead to poverty and revolution.
You will never see anyone teach you that higher IGR is linked to individual wealth or poverty rate.

That's not how to look at it. All those countries above USA have revenue as a percentage of their GDP higher than USA. Check Togo and Nigeria, revenue as a percentage of GDP is higher in Togo than in Nigeria same for Kenya, same for Ghana. So for their small populations their revenues are quite high.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereign_states_by_tax_revenue_to_GDP_ratio

There's a link between a region's capacity to generate revenue and level of poverty. How can your government build infrastructure without revenue? Or spend on education or even pay debt? I'm surprised you don't Know that Nigeria's major problem apart from corruption and tribalism is REVENUE. Without revenue you can't plan for the coming generation. That's why multidimensional poverty is higher in the SE than in the SW. If I were you I'll be worried about the East with a MPI rate above 70%. That's scary prognosis. That's why I keep telling you that the East is worse off than the West but you keep blocking your mind.

The other guy Omoawoke2 tried to point this out to you but your friends were insulting him and yorubas instead of reading his posts with open minds. As at 2019/2021 the SE According to records was poorer than SW in terms of regular poverty rates.

The SW was/is also doing poorly. But then it has the largest combination of non-indigenes than any other region in Nigeria. Our resources are seriously stressed. So for NBS to put SE slightly, ever so slightly above the SW now(which I Know is temporary) is no cause for celebration among ibos.

Oga you can look at it that way. Remember you claim GDP can't be correctly measured.
The US revenue to GDP is actually higher that many of the counties in the first 20 spot so again, you are wrong.
Actually we have what we call small government. Government does not have to do everything or spend so much. Especially in a corrupt system like Nigeria. Big IGR only favours the politicians.
Also, the non Yorubas actually make the SW economy bigger and more competitive. Or do you have any data to show that the indigenous people are stressing resources? Most of the non indigent are actively engaged in some economic activity. They increase value of rents, and land for the Yoruba. They provide market for your products. So which resources are being stressed?
