franchasofficia: Their parents lack wisdom.
How can a parent allow his or her children to become pilots and some people see it as something worthy of celebration in this age and era?
How is being a pilot, one of the most dangerous and awful job in the world be a center of celebration?
Pilots and cabin crew members that I always pity whenever I am getting off a flight? Na wa oh
This is complete foolishness typical of most Nigerians who celebrate stupidity as greatness, ire oh.
For the uninformed people that may not know, I have one or two pilot friends, and take it from me, that job is not a good job. Yes they earn supposedly high income due to risk involved, but do you know that most male pilots are highly promiscuous out of fear? They drink and womanize to kill their fear of a life of uncertainty.
They drink a lot just to try to forget the fears ahead.
Pilot no be better job like most kids use to envisage while growing up, I was one of them until I became old enough and started flying and had pilot friends, then I realized how awful that job is, please don't envy pilots, pray for them. Aviation has gotten really safe over the years with so much automation and safety nets, And if you fly for a good airline with great maintenance culture, the chances of crashing throughout your career will be infinitesimal. It's a noble, well respected and high paying job. Will I do it?NO. But it's worthy of praise and the training ain't cheap too, maybe that's why people respect it. 1 Like |

bro I feel you. over here you spend thousand of dollars in loans, grants and help just to get multi-engine CPL + 1500 hours only for you to receive paltry $4k per month (excluding tax). A friend of mine after all the hustle managed to get a DHL air delivery job, only for this nigger to die in a plane crash. I just weak. Truck drivers earn more in the short-run than pilots. The worst is even the Helicopter pilot... I'd rather die than become a heli-pilot DHL and cargo pilots generally don't earn well. Your friend can switch to commercial aviation and enjoy big bucks. And Heli pilots earn well too. |

Akinomoakin021: Many Nigerians have kept singing the praise of three Nigerian sisters who have broken the record to become pilots with different airlines and helicopter companies.
Aside from the glamour and admiration that comes with practising as a female pilot in an area that is mostly dominated by men, these three sisters have sent message of hope, resilience and I-can-do-it spirit to the minds of several female Nigerians with aspirations to pursue their dreams.
While Nigeria seems to be missing out on this great revolution of the emergence of female pilots, Oluwafunmilayo, Oluwaseun & Mopelola Makinde took after their Dad and became pilots just like him.
Hailing from Nigeria, these three sisters have not only shattered stereotypes but have also soared to great heights in their careers as pilots.
According to Black Wall ST Media, the story of the sisters’ journey into the world of aviation was significantly influenced by their father, Captain Wale Makinde, a seasoned helicopter pilot who has dedicated his life to flying.
Makinde with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, where his zeal and commitment to his profession inspired his daughters to follow their father’s steps at a very young age. Black Wall ST Media has it that Mopelola Makinde, the eldest of the three, vividly remembers being fascinated by her father’s stories of flying helicopters to remote and challenging terrains. As she grew older, the passion for aviation took root in her heart, and she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in the same field. Observing her father’s dedication and commitment, Mopelola realized that gender should never be a barrier to following one’s dreams.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Mopelola embarked on a journey to become a helicopter pilot. With unwavering support from her family, she overcame various hurdles and obtained her pilot’s license. Today, she proudly serves as a skilled and experienced helicopter pilot, shattering stereotypes and inspiring many young women to consider aviation as a viable career path, Black Wall ST Media.
According to Black Wall ST Media, the middle sister, Oluwaseun Makinde, was equally captivated by her father’s profession. Listening to the tales of courage and precision required in piloting helicopters, she was determined to carve her own path in the skies. Oluwaseun’s tenacity and dedication were evident from the early days of her training. Despite facing societal pressures and doubters who questioned a woman’s ability to succeed in such a demanding field, Oluwaseun remained undeterred.

SeaTrade: DHL and cargo pilots generally don't earn well. Your friend can switch to commercial aviation and enjoy big bucks. And Heli pilots earn well too. Yeah but u need at leat 1500 hours to get a commercial job and that's even if you lucky, but with at least 2k to 3k flying hours you could get regional jet with the cool pay. |
