Why Nigeria May Fight Niger. What we have to lose if we don't. by FatherOfJesus: 8:03pm On Aug 02, 2023
If the situation in Niger is not stabilized according to the standards of the West, there will be nothing for the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline, which according to the contractor's plans was supposed to supply the 🇪🇺 EU countries with as much as 30 billion cubic meters.

I think Russia is trying to use Niger to frustrate this supply to Europe so Europe can continue to buy gas from them.

The zombidients are only reacting to UK and US backing PBAT and ECOWAS to commence action on Niger republic.. all their Wagner and Russia noise is just to console themselves.

When AU and ECOWAS jointly issue statement that they do not recognize the Military junta in Niger republic, let me see any IPOB that will go and question them.

it won't be an easy fight for ECOWAS. Trust me.

It's not as easy as you think. A lot resources including uranium in Niger and iron ore in Guinea is at stake. Even China is some how in this war by proxy

Some kids have been crying that Nigeria shouldn't be involved
because they want almighty Wagner to win in Niger!

Only an idiotic oil economy will allow Russia who is a competitor in the gas industry
to become its neighbor without having a leverage over them.
You either resist them or you become a puppet.

It's way too easy my friend.. It's just the people there that is making ECOWAS thread with caution.

Niger republic can't stand Nigeria's Military might on a norm talk more of combined ECOMOG forces with support from AU troops, It's going to be an overkill trust me.

Imo state has the largest gas reserve in Nigeria and we won't allow you send it to Europe to develop Lagos and Kano. It's why I'm supporting Russia to cut this supply. If possible, they can help us divide this country because gas is the future.

Everybody got interests here, it's not like democraticallt elected presidents in Africa are not usually western puppets.

The gas in Imo belongs to the FG so remove eyes from it.. all mineral deposits within Nigeria's territory belongs to the Federal Government in accordance with the constitution of FRN.

Nations aren't children to be cared for by others.

It is about economic interest.
Russia is an oil and gas seller, so is Nigeria. We are competitors in this space.
If Russia has its way, it will not allow Nigeria or any Africa country to corner its customers(Europe).

Russian arms industry spending is currently huge, when Ukrainian war ends,
it will want normalization of economic ties with Europe eventually.
This Trans-Sahara pipeline could be an impediment.

Despite the "Green Energy" rhetoric in the US, Biden approved more oil
prospecting licenses for companies. The oil market will saturate in few years time and no
country can afford to be fighting their buyers.

I don't care about everybody's interest. That's their problem.

If western countries are major on oil and gas seller and they want to seize control
of our gas pipeline, I would be supporting Russia to take over!

The gas project is Imo state are not for export yet. They are used to power power plants.

When the chips are down and we can grab the FG on their balls, we will respond if FG does not do the needful. We know that shell and seplat just completed their Maga plants, we are waiting for when it will start operations.
We are not southsouth that will dance to you tone. By that time, you I'll be so much interested in the sit at home wahala

It is that time that you I'll know the significance of all these sit at home. When you can not sell gas.

if federal government does not pacify southeast and resolve security issues in that region, FG may face great challenges with this project owing to the fact that the resources is mostly from the region.

SouthEast my not be as kind as we southsouth and allow you take their resources for free without addressing their concerns.
Many events will unfold with time

When you say "we", I hope you are not banking on Ipob?
All the protection they are enjoying from the west would disappear.
That is when you will realize that "human right" is just a political talk by the west.

You might want to check history about the resource war in Africa.

you have to pacify southeast to take gas. Especially their poltical elites. This is because they will now know that they are bringing. Especially when they know that they bring something to the table unlike before.

You may have to address some issues else you will face serious security challenges that could affect the process.
If you do it by force, even the politician in southeast will help their people fight against you unless you are ready to kill every single person in that region

Egypt, Algeria, Libya are behind Niger

So what is left

Common Boko Haram Nigeria is unable to crush...

The land mass of Niger is already a problem for Nigeria Troops...

Niger is not Liberia

Moreover most Northern states will support Niger because they are relatives they will help sabotage Nigerian troops efforts...

Again Biafra might use that as an opportunity to start another war against Nigeria...

Look at what's happening in Libya, no one is touching their oil reserves despite having the biggest oil reserve in Africa, with the help of Wagner group.

Oil workers cannot dare go to sites, Libya is not even selling oil like they use to do because of the crisis. You cannot use force in southeast if they revolt violently. The gas workers will be killed via guerrilla attacks and this will discourage them a lot.
It's important for peace reign there for this process to work because these workers need to reside in southeast to be able to Work in those gas stations.

You have a lot to learn

There is nothing the FG has to pacify the South East except outright secession.
Even the presidency post is not considered enough for many politically active Igbo.

Here is the truth though, unlike the SS that can ship crude oil directly to buyers,
even as an independent country, the SE will have no choice than to use the existing pipeline
which goes through the Sahel and pay unfriendly fees to its erstwhile neighbor.

South Sudan is a good case study.
What you have not fully grasped is that governments do not reason or react like ordinary citizens.

They still feel cheated. Whether or not they are right is not the issue.
The issue is that if you don't resolve the tension in the region and they are now aware that you have started exporting their resources to Europe, they won't allow you.
You can not kill all of them.
