extol1:. You don't understand international politics. As ECOWAS chairman, the sole mandate to protect the sub-region lies with President Tinubu. The people do not support the coup. It is Russia that is sponsoring coups in Africa so they can have their mercenaries like WAGNER take over the region and loot the rich uranium deposit of Niger for their nuclear program. Weather France or America or Russia or whoever, they are all Europeans and they have one thing in common which is to loot the resources of Niger under the guise of protecting them. Also, if the coup is allowed, it will post a serious security threat to the sub-region especially Nigeria. |

AsomughaChuks05:Let me ask you a question , supposing the old president gets killed as Ecowas invade , what will be the next action > I believe you are young and have not been around when we used to have bloody coups . What Tinunu and his team are doing is leading Africa into bloody coups in future , if the old president and his team were killed you would not be discussing this invasion 1 Like 1 Share |

Olarewaju89: You guys always speak out of ignorance. Search for knowledge and always make informed takes on issues. Donot always be quick to sound like a blockhead. Shutting down their airspace will automatically shoot up the prices of airline tickets for outbound flights to europe from nigeria due to the long haul using alternative routes. FreeStuffsNG:ECOWAS could shut their airspace against Niger but that doesn't mean the region can't enter Niger by land, using the ECOWAS charter which guarantees free movement of persons and goods within the region. I think Niger did the right thing. Sokoto is just 6 hours away from Niger. Since the majority of Nigerien supported the junta, then no country should meddle in their affairs. They're a sovereign state and can choose to leave ECOWAS and nothing would happen. What gladdens my heart was the fact that, the military junta said they'd speed up transition into a democratic rule so democracy could be restored. That's a good move which has also allayed the fears of many, of any possible military return. Nothing like democracy, even though some countries, including Nigeria has abused it. If the military could check them by staging a coup that would jettison them , bringing up mew breeds that can move the country forward, arresting and jailing our corrupt politicians, then return to the barracks thereafter. That won't be a bad idea. |

Middleborn: If the pipeline project has not started, how can we use that as a condition for this war? Won't the project take years to complete considering the distance it will cover to get to Europe? I |
Re: Niger Closes Air Space Citing ‘Threat Of Intervention’ by Eriokanmi: 9:47am On Aug 07, 2023 |
Middleborn:Russia had said they won't meddle in the affairs of Niger,.neither wouid they go into war with any country that opposes the coup. Always watch the foreign news media. Our local media are so biased for fear of being sanctioned by the federal government, should they bring up clean reportage. On the gas thing, it will take years to be completed. The coup has nothing to do with Russia involvement at all. The president had overstayed his welcome. The country didn't like his style of government. My friend and business partner in Niger said they supported the coup so, let the junta come up with programmes and events that will lead to speedy transition of government into a civil rule as they maintained last night. See my partner's reaction in the screenshot below about the coup. Maybe Nigerians would understand better and stop politicising the coup the way their corrupt leaders have brainwashed them 1 Like

Luzebox:Why do you think the military will not let us go on with the pipeline? With the right negotiation everything is possible after all they will still earn from the gas project Bombing them in all out war will also stall the gas project. We have been fighting war with BH for the 13 years adding another frontier isn't a wise thing to do. 1 Like |
