The damage done to Abia state by the combined disastrous16 years of the two Orjis' cannot be quantified! Ikpeazu was a slight improvement on the two, but only woke up in the final years of his admin' to fix up some major and inner-street roads in Aba! With continued good governance i forsee Aba, together with Onitsha and Nnewi, once again take their rightful place as the industrial and commercial pride of Ndigbo....with a clean, green and neat environment thrown into the mix as a bonus 7 Likes |

LOVEALAIGBO: Exactly. Ikpeazu tried but wasn't proactive, and used stupid contractors. Otti has started very well, hope he continues with this pace. 5 Likes |

christejames: I have not seen one thing that is expensive or difficult to do in any of these pictures, especially for a State government. These are things that a wealthy individual could have done talkless of government. It shows the level of hatred in the hearts of previous governors for their own people. People are shocked by what Umahi did in Ebonyi. If only Nigerians knew that he was just giving an 'average' performance for the amount of resources he has at his disposal. 2 Likes |

Re: Abia State Development Thread- PICTURES by ivolt: 7:18pm On Aug 03, 2023 |
Ofodirinwa:You mean uneducated Nigerians? Any Non-13% governor seen "performing" is either borrowing heavily or involved with PPP. 70-80% of allocation go towards salary already. There is no magic in government as they would like you to believe. 3 Likes |

Could we have a time-out on uploading all these pics of ongoing road constructions in Aba until they're completed...or at least about to be completed!? |
Re: Abia State Development Thread- PICTURES by Umueme: 2:14pm On Aug 08, 2023 |
jamjo: Those aren't shacks. Shacks were actually demolished by Ikpeazu. That's how far it has been. Those you're seeing are roof extensions of shops 2 Likes |

And it's shouldn't just be about reconstructing the roads....as commendable as the effort is. The gov't and construction coys should ensure the finished product is aesthetically pleasing to look at and equipped with some if not all the necessary road furniture: like street lights; traffic lights (where necessary); covered gutters or underground drainages so sidewalks can be built on top; road/route signs; and most importantly, trees, shrubs/flowers and grass where space permits! Effort should also be made to clear away as much roadside clutter and unsightly batchers/shacks as possible! |
