In fact,Federal civil service commission in Abuja is another place where job racketeering is rife and still continues till this day.

Federal character commission is just a tip of the iceberg when compared to Federal civil service commission.

It is never a standard.

Selling jobs started long ago but only few persons knew about it. Initially,they were given out these jobs out to people to pay with their 6months salary or certain percentage.

From there,the matter changed from salary payment to full payment.

In fact,it is a Nigerian thing.

Federal character commission was established by OBJ while and the latter was established in 1954.

I will never follow them to pay for job ... doesn't make any sense..

As a Nigerian its ny birth right to seek employment and get employed... if I don't have required skills... den I should get some employment where I will be trained

Nigeria have this middle man culture since before the 1914 marriage of protectorates i.e Opobo blocking the British from accessing the interior. In present times, our government unknowingly or knowingly created avenues for arbitrage in most sectors of the economy, FX rates, petrol subsidy, job racketeering etc.

It has been on for at least 15-20 years now. This position of mine is borne out of my own experiences and observations.

Sometimes in 2006/2007, the Agency saddled with Border beats did a massive requirements and I personally know three guys (two guys and a lady) that confirmed their parents paid certain big heads at Abuja and truly their names came up on the Employment Lists.

Also, I saw big money movement into Accounts of These Border Agency guys kids/wives Accounts. I once worked in a Financial institution and I could speculate on the reasons for such inflows.

The guys I know admitted to paying #1.5m back then.

It was made official policy during buhari regime. If not that Nigeria is turning to a lawless country, how would a public officer confessed that he is collecting money from job seekers running to millions of naira and be allowed to go home and sleep. These are the people that no one collected a naira from them to enter the service see what they have reduced public service to.

Don't think the people already there cannot turn it around.. they absolutely can!
There are a fair qualified number of people in MDAs too, and they can bring in experts or consultants where need be
The while issue of efficiency and productivity is far deeper than that!
