Akinsolaomo: Your Response to the questions below might/would enable you get a response on the type of program, program qualification you can/should go for - what did you study in the university? - What year did you graduate ? (to address study gap) - Do you have a 2.1 or 2.2 or 3rd Class? - Do you have a job? If yes, what is the name of your Job, and what are your Job duties? (to know if your Job is related to your Degree) - How many years work experience do you have in that Job? - Is your Job related to what you studied in the University? |

Kunle4041:According to IRCC, you are expected to show a bank statements of 4months old, so if your resumption date is next month, i believe you ought to have done the needful before now, btw it's not just having the funds but, proper explanation of the source. |

onyek82: This may be applicable to you as well.. I was given automatic 18 months of open work permit extension free of charge by ircc..on July 2023 Work permit already delivered at canada resident address ..however I will have to make a separate application for temporary resident Visa /TRV using form IMM 5257 and pay $100...After approval ircc will request passport for stamping for travel purposes.. You may have to wait until you receive your study permit and Apply for TRV..for visa stamp on passport page..

Submission of passport is not required for in-Canada approvals. You can apply for a visitor visa if you intend to travel outside of Canada before your study permit expires; otherwise, you don’t need it. onyek82: |

The opening balance likely increased over a short period without sufficient evidence regarding the sources of the funds. So, it seems that the VO believes that the funds are for demonstration purposes, especially if your sponsor’s salary or income is insufficient to account for the funds within such a period and there is little or no documentation on the sources of the funds. Only if someone sponsors you; it is insufficient if you apply as a self-sponsor. Iceboyblog: |

Good morning guys, please I just went for passport collection, and I am to leave Nigeria ending of August because my school is resuming September 4, but the problem now is my agent has refused to give me my login to my ircc portal. But I have the school login. And all the documents received like my LOI, and others. I wanted to ask if I will need that gc key login for anything ? Or should I just leave him to his fate |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Lekiboboe: 7:34am On Aug 11, 2023 |
Akinsolaomo: A diploma is a wrong Academic Progression for a Bachelor's degree holder. A Visa Officer officer will most likely frown at that, cos he will assume you just want to JAPA (Wrong Purpose of Visit to Canada). Since you have a 2.1, A Visa Officer will expect you to go for a Masters degree in a related field (Academic Progression). Though some members on this platform have said that if such applicant can give cogent reasons on his/her SOP why he/she wants to go for a Diploma (as a Bachelor's degree holder) instead of a Masters, then that person's study visa application might be approved. I would suggest you await the response of the gurus on that, or some based on experience response from Bachelor's degree holder who used diploma admission to get their Study Visa Approved to Canada before making a move. |

Themmzyadewale: You might need it but just leave it for him. You can always open a new GCkey acct and use your UCI number. All these agents. He wants you to always run back to him if you have any need to either apply for study permit extension or anything |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by zubizareta(m): 7:52am On Aug 11, 2023 |
Lekiboboe: Just as you said. The SOP is the key. I had a 2.1 and still went for a diploma. So nothing spoil. |
