You will hardly see such a witchcraft attitude with a typical Yoruba, Hausa, Edo, Fulani, Ikwerre, etc landlords/landladies, no matter how mean they may be...

The moment i hear the owner of the house is a Landlady, i don take off with speed of light without looking back.

The exception na if the so-called Landlady take a totally different location from that compound then i can manage if my mind choose to, and any small issue i don run.

Back in the university days, I had a landlady who was actually from Enugu and married a Warri man who worked in another state. Woman was darn nice! Not just to me, but other sane tenants. She was nice to the point we often had beers together and she made it a point of duty to give me at least one meal in a week. She'll never let any tenant complain about an issue more than once. Because of her warmness, no tenant ever considered stressing her with rents even. I left the compound because I'm not one to live in an environment for more than 18 months.

These things are just individual traits and not peculiar to gender or tribes.

Some Landlords are just wicked...especially female Landlords

Are you into Estates management or properties?

I still wonder why most people don't like to pay their rent until they are embarrassed.
It is sheer wickedness by most tenants. Who fustrate Landlords to a point of making them do the unthinkable.

When you do the calculation by dividing your rent by numbers of days in a year you will be very surprised how so cheap rents are compared to the amount you spend on USELESS things daily.

If you are paying for example #30,000 a year, that is just #82 a day not up to a hundred. If you are paying #150,000 a year that is #410 per day. If #500,000 per year, that is #1370 per day. If #1,000,000 per year, that is only #2,720 daily.

People spend this on a daily basis on things they can't even account for because it is chicken change.

You will find a person who makes thousands of Naira a day but will still be dragging with their landlord to pay their rent of #30,000 which is just #82 per day.

That is why the main challenge about the student loan is the mindset of many who already have the intention that they will not pay even if the have the best jobs on earth.

How do you explain why so many who the government of Nigeria both on State level and Federal sponsor them abroad to go study with the agreement that they will pay back not in cash but service to the nation by coming back to the country and investment their knowledge and experience while being paid for their service to the nation. Majority do not come back home, they navigate their way afterwards and far away from the country that gave them such opportunity to grow.

Paying back the student loan is very easy if you really intend to but just like the rents, majority will not want to pay back even if the have best of jobs.

Enugu Igbos both women and men are kinda special bred. They are the only Igbos I can like
