Is nnewi the only town in Anambra state
Mind you, each town in Anambra state is as important as nnewi

A lot of demolitions will happen anytime Soludo remembers nnewi and I believe very soon he will remember nnewi, although he awarded few roads in nnewi the last time and work is ongoing there
Stop deceiving yourself, nothing is happening in nnewi. And yes nnewi is a populous commercial town that requires urgent attention in public infrastructure.

Soludo is really trying his best despite the paucity of funds. I pity the guy because he is trying to bring civility and orderliness to make Anambra a liveable place against the hitherto culture of impunity where the previous Anambra governors allowed its cities to develop like village concrete jungles.

Just take a look at Awka which became a state capital with Asaba on the same day, and compare them! The difference is that the governors in Delta paid attention to the proper development of the city with good access roads, while the governors in Awka allowed it to "organically" develop without any interference or concern about paying any attention to the provision of space for access roads and social amenities. In the same way, Onitsha was allowed to "organically" develop from the 1990s and beyond without properly mapping out access roads, parking spaces, and other social amenities. Making it the most "developed" city in Nigeria by way of modern residential flats, but the least habitable!

Thus, Soludo is solving this fundamental problem of the TOTAL PLANLESSNESS of Anambra cities since the 1990s and beyond from its ROOT! Soludo should be praised for his guts to take the tough decisions needed to rebuild Anambra cities and to demolish houses that encroached on the key major roads. It is NOT EASY.

To show that Soludo understands the problem, he proposed the building of a brand-new modern capital city in Awka North area where there is still ample virgin land and people have not built like mad people on the roads itself. Let us give Soludo some time to implement his vision. I believe he would finally achieve a liveable Anambra state for us. If he continues with the difficult but necessary determination to do things the right way.

I have a question to ask… if paucity of funds is Anambra greatest challenge please what about Ebonyi state? Didnt the Governor construct many good roads and bridges? Are we so poor we can’t construct good roads and bridges with covered drain and lights? Isn’t our Revenue way bigger than theirs?

Can’t you see that this is not about money is about the zeal to do them.

Now we have oil and gas added to our revenue inclusive of the markets already there .. why do we keep crying over nothing ?

Also we have a river port that still not ready… Soludo should call out that indolent ghost concessionaire because his primary duty is improve the economy and marketability of the state.

You keep repeating yourself in this thread, if you have nothing else to add then go and sleep. Soludo is doing a lot of infrastructures including dual roads in Onitsha, Awka and infrastructures across Anambra including Ekwulobia upgrade. posted them yesterday, even in his blog, but because you are the only one that knows what you want to achieve that’s why you always return to already discussed issues.

One year after taking over the management of Onitsha River Port, the concessionaires of the port, Universal Elysium Consortium Limited, reached an important milestone with formal receipt of the its first barges at the facility recently.

The epoch-making event happened on the August 16, 2023.

In a statement, the Managing Director of Universal Elysium Consortium Limited,

Dr. George Nwangwu, was quoted as stating that the barges were fully handled by the crew of Onitsha River Port.
The barges, which arrived Onitsha Port was a consignment of tiles from Ajaokuta to Onitsha.

It was expected that the arrival of the first barges would herald a weekly occurrence, going forward as there would now be a movement of 600 tons of tiles to Onitsha every week and 600 tons of clay back to Ajaokuta.
He expressed happiness on reaching the important milestone.

According to him, the activity helped take more than 70 trucks off the busy roads, adding that this was only possible and achievable because of the higher water level in the River Niger during the rainy season.

This, he noted, only happens for six months in a year due to the low water levels in the Rive Niger during the dry season.
He, however, pleaded with the federal government to dredge the river channel so that goods would be able to move through the river channel all-year-round as this would have immense benefits to the country.

He paid tribute to the operations team at the port which consists of the supervisors, dockers, crane operators, and forklift operators who really put in immense effort to ensure the operation was seamless and successful.

According to the Onitsha River Port chief executive, the goal of the company is to continue to strive to make the point that ort great despite all the challenges.

Thanks so much for sharing this news… you are the best.

To be honest this isn’t the first time onitsha receives barges…. So not clapping for that concessionaire.
Also I thought the concessionaire is to dredge the rivers? Why asking both FG and ANSG … honestly there so much uncertainties about the concession agreement and that thief Emefiele conducted..

Soludo should please look into it… so that concessionaire doesn’t eat from both mouth and do nothing..
If that port is working optimally our revenue will improve.

Apga has a hidden agenda when it comes to giving nnewi her basic infrastructure. Do you want the traders to build roads?
And are you normal at all if you cannot define government and why people pay taxes.

I stopped replying when it dawned on me that the negligence of Nnewi is deliberate.

Soludo is from Nnewi region and as a matter of fact should prioritize the development of the city as done by his predecessors to their regions (AWKA/ONITCHA), but here we are with useless flimsy excuses from his E warriors.

So you know, the entire NNEWI is an eyesore. And that's the fact

Nnewi might be a mini economic hub but can we really say how much worth of taxes does Nnewi debit to the Anambra purse monthly.

Most of these Nnewi traders and manufacturers are averse to paying their taxes. Nnewi is also just bit of a mess when it comes to town layout. Zero planning went into the development of Nnewi and this is causing many problems today. A typical Nnewi man will not let you knock down his house to build roads.

Ebonyi state get limestones free for construction unlike Anambra, which is the most expensive material in construction, Ebonyi generator massive IGR from limestone more than the market you mentioned, Ebonyi citizens might not be rich like Anambra citizens but their state government make money from formal sector, almost all the construction going on in Southeast, some part of Southsouth and Benue get the limestones from Ebonyi state, many construction companies have their quarry sites in Ebonyi like Julius Berger, Setraco, RCC, Niger Cat, Umuoghara Quarry Cluster, "Umuoghara Quarry Site , China Oriental Mining Nigeria Limited, Okposi Umuoghara/Echiaba Quarry Pit, MASTER ROCK QUARRY, Alaoji Construction, Seaman quarry site and so many others, Ebonyi state government make huge IGR from that, go and price one truck of limestones, a road project that will cost Anambra #10 million, will cost Ebonyi #2million, mind you cost of labor is cheap in Ebonyi when compare to Anambra, Anambra oil and gas sector is still developing, our oil derivation is still very low when compare to major oil producing states

ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT CONCLUDES JOINT RETREAT OF EXECUTIVE AND LEGISLATURE.

The Anambra State Government has just concluded a three-day retreat for members of the Executive and Legislature, from the 20th to the 22nd of August, 2023 at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu. The combined event is the first in the annals of the State aimed at building stronger synergy between the two arms of government.

When Governor Soludo talks about building a liveable and prosperous homeland, it is anchored on his understanding that every Onye Anambra must see “Project Anambra” as a collective goal irrespective of political, religious and socioeconomic cleavages. His “one Anambra, one Agenda, one people” vision summarizes his belief that the interest of the State must supersede all other interests no matter the colouration.

Part of the critical highlight of the retreat is the active participation of the leadership of both arms of government at every segment of the program — including the brainstorming sessions. The Tony Blair Foundation provided partnership support in the form of credible resource persons who spoke on important subject matters affecting governance and personal development.

The retreat ended yesterday amidst greater resolve by members of both arms of government to double up efforts in delivering good governance to Ndi Anambra.

I pray nnewi people should abandon dispute and embrace development.. behaving like they know better is a bane on them and restricting development.

My brother, No compensation for a owner who's house was demolished except the house have Cof O/ government approval... Can I tell you this? Most house in Nigeria don't have it. Let's just be sincere to ourselves... That's what played out in Ekwulobia where Soludo is currently expanding and building flyover.

The truth still remain that we can not build the Anambra State of our dream without houses going down. The same things is going on in Awka; I mean what do you expect in a state with overflowing human capital where everyone is a government on his own? A good example is one house in front of Eke Awka round about by Gbarimgba... The 2story edifices has been marked for demolition several times by almost all past administrations, next thing... Order will come from Abuja stating that the said house should not be demolished.

It's high time Anambrarians see reasons with state government and sacrifice what it takes to build a better homeland.

Obiano even provided buses for the civil servants. What is Soludo doing or has done to ameliorate the suffering of the civil servants based on the situation our country is currently in? What of traders? Do you know that wheelbarrow pushers are currently taxed in Onitsha? Kudos to him for employing 5000 teachers. What's the benefit of having a good developmental plan if you can't implement any?
With citizens like you, the government will just be doing anything they like without anybody holding them accountable.
Just yesterday Soludo announced that he will embark on aggressive road construction once the dry season comes. Do you think it's not him responding to the cries, yearnings, and pressure of Anambrarians?
I dare you to tune in to any radio station of your choice in Anambra state and hear the complaints and cries of ndi Anambra. If not Soludo, who then should we hold accountable?
