Ministerial Appointment: Lokpobiri Family Thanks Tinubu For Appointing Son Minister

Following the appointment of Senator Heineken Lokpobiri as Minister of state, Petroleum Resources, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Lokpobiri family has expressed its gratitude to Mr President and others who contributed to making the appointment a reality.

In a video release by Hon. Briggs Lokpobiri, younger brother to the minister designate, who spoke on behalf of the family, the Lokpobiri family said it was filled with gratitude to Mr President for finding their son worthy of an appointment as Minister of state, Petroleum Resources, and assured Mr. President that their son, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, will justify the confidence the president reposed in him.

The family said it was aware of the enormous responsibilities that come with the appointment and expressed optimism that their son possesses the requisite character, capacity and qualifications to introduce the positive changes and reforms needed to revitalize the Petroleum sector.

Speaking further, Hon. Briggs Lokpobiri, extended the gratitude of the Lokpobiri family to the pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and close ally of the President, Pa Bisi Akande, the Chief of Staff to the president, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and the recently inaugurated Minister of FCT for their indispensable roles in making the appointment a reality.

Senator Heineken Lokpobiri’s name was contained in the second ministerial list forwarded to the Senate on the 3rd of August by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. After a successful screening, the President assigned the ministry for state for Petroleum Resources to the Ekeremor born politician who served as pioneer speaker of the Bayelsa State Assembly, two-time Senator representing Bayelsa West, and Minister of state for Agriculture and Rural Development during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first tenure.

Thanking the president because it’s their turn to amass wealth at the expense of the people.
