That means you will need forex for import and most likely run to CBN, then cry that emefiele finished all the dollar again.

Instead, let's embrace production and substitute imports as much as possible.

That is actually the way to grow any economy, but you know this template is used as a front to expand the financial empire of the corrupt rulers. The price of locally produced essential commodities in Nigeria is so exorbitant that it defeats the purpose of local production. The guy you quoted made a good point.

Imagine the foolishness of both a people and it's useless govt.. Instead of providing palliatives to ease the hike in prices of petrol by providing cheaper transportation options and alternatives, the ediots choose to share grains. Now the same govt claim it had grain reserves so what are they doing buying up and mopping up the market and thereby leading to more increases

We've enter one chance. only GOD Almighty will save us from this mess we found ourselves

Every regime continues to be more clueless than the previous one as we continue the so called politics. Rice as palliatives but you still have to source from the local market of which you have banned the importation of the foreign rice that happens to be 70%-80% source of the rice in the local market. confusion here and there embarassed angry

Oga that theory has not helped Nigeria since Buhari closed, it was purely counter productive, if the borders are opened people will source for dollars from anywhere available including outside Nigeria to import and make money, It is not only the CBN that provides dollars, the production you are talking about the same government is killing the manufacturing sector and a lot of farmers are not feeling safe farming.

The truth is Tinubu partnered with Buhari to destroy Nigeria for their selfish ambitions.....
Comprehend before replying. Borders can be open but local production must be prioritized otherwise the naira will lose value and the foreign goods that look cheap at the moment will become costlier locally again.

Your emilokan has absolutely nothing to offer Nigerians. Just as we warned you RONU about buhari the known failure, we also warned you RONU about una emilokan. Your emilokan has increased poverty, unemployment and hardship from where bubu left it. Too bad

Tinubu should open the border unconditionally for Nigerians to buy rice at cheaper rate. With the way things are going, a bag of rice might cost 100k before the end of the year.

SMH

If he opens up the border .. how can the price be expensive and people suffer..

He has already told his zombies that suffering is the only way..

In a country where minimum wage is 30k ..a bag of rice is 50k.. and the populace are not taking to the streets..

Nigerians are born to suffer except the politicians

so you mop up thousands of bags of rice in the market and begin to distribute 1 cup to every family abi? i simply don't get the logic in this, now rice will become scarce and expensive to buy.

The worse part is that the rice wouldn't partially, or not even get to the masses for their palliative program, and the same poor masses will have to struggle with the inflationary effect of the government decision. undecided

Olodo how’s 3 months equal to half of a year . You guys just want to criticize at every given opportunities. You complain the leaders are bad but when citizens inflicts hardship on themselves as a result of greed you’ll still blame the government.

Oga shut up, you clearly were against the border opening citing scarcity of dollars and I pointed to you that border closure did not help as Buhari did and you are telling the same people to go into production when the same government has failed to support the manufacturing sector or provide security for farmers, are you Ok at all? Big companies are shutting down and packing up, do you know how many small companies have already done that?

So the people should starve because they want to grow dollars or want to go into production? read what you wrote again.....

God bless we still have sensible people who reasons without their emotions.
Nigerians are the problem of themselves we’ve to many bad eggs .
An average Nigerian is looking for opportunities to steal or chop his own national cake .

That’s why politicians steal with the little opportunity and citizens exploit with any given opportunity. When subsidy was removed some filling stations sold at normal price claiming they’ve old stock while others with old stock sold at the new price that’s the typical Nigerian problem we don’t look out for .

Government will build bride citizens will defecate on it and still blame the government for not employing police from stopping people who defecate . Is it everything the government will do for us ? Nigeria’s problem is the reflection of the society.

2.Putting local rice farmers out of business.
what’s the difference now.

The farmers are in business and the food is getting expensive.

Exactly what we did..

We embraced production.

However, just one insensitive law from the government sent all our hard work down the drain.

Now whats the use of the money the suppliers are scrambling for when they can only spend it on an already inflated goods ?

Look around you, everything is inflated. Because everybody wants to make the money he/she lost from the purchase of a particular item, he adds the price difference to his wares sales price.

And the madness goes on and on.

All i can say is, all eyes on the judiciary. Because i am tired of this nonsense.

Out of business you say

Just try to find out the level of inflation in the land compared to the purchasing power of the farmers.

Only then will you understand that they (the farmers) are even worse of.

u guys wl blame Tinubu fr every post.
So u now if u want to buy 30000 bags of rice every 4 months wt ur money, dat shld cause the market ppl to hyke price for other 200M ppl.
