My Son Landing Update (to help guide others in line with our common goal of helping one another) Took Air France from Lagos to Paris to Vancouver to Winnipeg (no transit visa required) Air France requested for admission letter, letter of acceptance, school fees payment receipt and passport (with visa in it of course). He gladly told me he was given his study permit without being asked any questions (obviously happy because we have over drilled him ready with so much questions etc.). Was told by the border officer to submit his passport and letter of introduction while other documents (POF docs) were given back to him. His Port of Entry was Vancouver, so the experience may not be the same for everyone. Advisable to be over ready. We thank God for a smooth journey for an unaccompanied Minor and we saw God's hands all over it. 14 Likes |

DejiiiiB: So sorry about this, First did you tell them you have scholarship? If yes good, did you put the documents that shows and clarify it? Secondly your tuition is 9k Two years is 18k What of your living expenses of 20k for two years Looking at naira rate now.....you paid half of tuition for first session(first semester) what happens to the remaining 3semesters? Also what about your home ties ....and assets....are they huge enough to come back for? If you don't have it....use ur parent as home ties....use your work and church activities as home ties.....do supporting documents like letter of recommendation and notorized letter of good standing and commitment to a service 3 Likes |

Interestingly due to short time between getting passport stamped and his travel, i was seeing one-way tickets at prices higher than 2-way. Had to book 2-way (with return fixed for summer holidays next year) for economic reasons and not border officers matter. I doubt if Border officers ask for your ticket (though Airlines share information with them) joeyztime: 1 Like |

Good day everyone. What is the STANDARD numbers of pages for SOP or number of words? My SOP is 8pages and my immigration consultant said I should go and reduce it to 4pages cos 8pages is too much that no VO has time to read long sop Please is 8pages too much for SOP?? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Letusconnect: 3:52pm On Sep 01, 2023 |
Heritagebib: Lol put yourself in the Visa Officer’s shoes. Would you have the time to read an SOP of 8 pages when there are other millions of applications to be reviewed. SOP isn’t a matter of how lengthy. It can be so long and unconvincing to the visa officer. I’d advise you make it shorter like your consultant advised. Just be concise and convincing. All the best. |
