At least he's decent enough to admit the truth we've always known.

In the space of one week, Wale Edun, Obasanjo and Fayemi have all confirmed that Buhari plunged this country into serious economic abyss

I also liked his opinion about Winner taking all, even though i know it is politics too.

Tinubu's tenure would meet more than enough resistance because 65% of voting population do not want him, and the same goes for the rest too.

Conduct the election 500 times, and Tinubu cannot win the SS/SE, and Obi cannot win the North. So of what good will it be to force any winner on the rest?

Gbam!

If u notice he refrenced Obsanjo's cable interview where Obasanjo made bold to say the present form of democracy we are practising in Africa is not "Domocracying" and he(Fayemi) agreed with Obj. The cable interviewer was calling different countries and their democracies and Obj kept on insisting "dem just dey play"(Including Ghana)

You know we've had this discussion in the past. Until we come together as a people to determine what system actually works for us, this current system of winner takes all that only favours the few he spoke about will always be an issue.

PS: Before anybody start goading me asking me what alternative system of government am I suggesting ; Note I'm not a political scientist and do not have any system in mind for now but I know the current system is not working

Indeed, that was a very surprising take by a key APC member. I'm intrigued by the idea or how it will work.

This is what he proposes;
Fayemi said, “Today, I read former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s interview in The Cable saying our liberal democracy is not working and we need to revisit it, and I agree with him. We must move from the political alternatives. I think we are almost on a dead end of that.

“What we need is alternative politics and my own notion of alternative politics is that you can’t have 35 per cent of the vote and take 100 per cent. It won’t work! We must look at proportional representation so that the party that is said to have won 21 per cent of the votes will have 21 per cent of the government. Adversary politics bring division and enmity.

“All political parties in the country agreed and they even put in their manifesto that subsidy must be removed. We all said subsidy must be removed. But we in ACN at the time, in 2012, we know the truth Sir, but it is all politics.

“That is why we must ensure that everybody is a crucial stakeholder by stopping all these. Let the manifesto of PDP, APC and Labour Party, be put on the table and select all those who will pilot the programme from all parties

Very interesting

Bro, dont fall for that scam - winner always takes it all. We already have proportional representation its is called the National Assembly; after OBJ bastardised the institutions to get his way during his 8year term na now him dey realise that our democracy isn't democracying? Abegiii.

Let him go direct and just say we should return to regions, and parlimentary system no need for all these shalayes.

Maybe regional government like in the 60's all under the umbrella of a federal parliamentary system.

I think this will help all regions develop at their own pace without anyone dragging down the other.
The problem was that this was before the discovery of oil in nigeria, so will the north allow anything of the sort seeing how unproductive their region has become?

Without oil then, the north were highly productive agriculture wise. The west was the centre of commerce and administration. The south east exported palm oil and timber to our colonial powers and the riverine areas practiced high level fishery at a productive export level, an industry now nonexistent due to pollution of the land via oil.

That system has proven in hindsight to be the only one that actually benefitted nigeria greatly. I don't know if it will work today.

You see this thing, na bobo. U will think people like Bayo Onanuga, Reno,FFK and the likes care about any manifesto. They will rather muddle the waters, resort to character assassination in favour of their preferred candidates when the politicking starts.

All these things Fayemi is saying dey sweet to talk during symposiums and town hall meetings; just wait for political season and u will see people doing the aforementioned even in his favour if he's on the ballot and he won't even address it provided he will benefit from it politically.

Nigerians have been so divided in recent times that I doubt even regional government will work at this point. In states like Benue, Plateau and Nassarawa where u have Fulani, Eggon, Tiv, Junkun, Birom, Idoma, etc some groups will still shout marginalization and that their interests are not being considered in the general scheme of things.

Or is it Cross River and Akwa Ibom that have oil fields that have been subject of disputes in the past?

The judiciary wants to set this country on fire!
They better know what they're doing.

Yesterday a fool here blinded by tribal sentiments said, "if an exam is held for 100 people and 8 percent cheated, will the exam be cancelled"? Thus extremely minimising the gross level of widespread rigging, intimidation and results manipulation that took place just few months ago.

A more accurate example of that analogy used is to ask, "if an exam is held for 100 people and it is discovered that more than 70 percent of the students have colluded with the exam body and already have access to the answer sheet even before the exam has taken place, will people want that kind of result to stand??

We're saying that even in states declared for Obi , his numbers were drastically cut. Talk of Delta where the largest local government results were entirely cancelled because of rigging. Or in imo state where uzodinma manufactured results giving bat rigged 25%, Ebonyi nko with umahi, Edo State? Lagos State? These are the ones declared for Obi oo. Not to talk of the ones where he was outrightly rigged and declared for someone else, Benue, akwaibom and the rest.

Is there any bat supporter who would say the election were not rigged?? NO! What they're now arguing is the degree of the rigging. And these same people are saying we should conduct the injustice.

The General Overseer and Founder of the Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has reportedly agreed to take in the child alleged to be his by a lady identified as Miss Imaobong Loveth Sunday.

It should be recalled that, Miss Imaobong Loveth Sunday had taken to social media to allege that Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere is the father of her son.

However, on Friday, September 1, 2023, newsmen were allowed to hear directly from Apostle Chibuzor who cleared the air on the issue that has drawn attention and criticism, especially from the clergyman’s followers worldwide.

One Bishop Sodje Masodje led other pastors to the residence of the Founder of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere.

During a press briefing, Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere told newsmen that he would not deny any child because his parents never denied him

We Nigerians are funny people. Now we are praising Fayemi for saying the "truth"

Faeymi like every other politician is only telling you what you want to hear to justify the ill planned subsidy removal by Tinubu

After all, if Subsidy was meant to have been removed in 2012 and they only played politics with it, Tinubu has now done the right thing. Let's rally around him and not play politics this time.

No different from what we have now within the states.
Cross River & Akwa Ibom would be in the same south south region so the wealth is shared.

I know they are within the same region and the wealth will be shared, but u will start seeing each member state complain about marginalization of their interests at the regional level. Just look at Southern and Northern Kaduna issues

Inside Akwa Ibom, Ibibio and Annang rarely see eye to eye. Same with Urhobo and Isoko in Delta.
