FG can't keep receiving over 50% of the budget while expecting states to do the heavy lifting. Even the FG couldn't construct the railways without loans.

Although I like the idea behind the proposal from the FG, I think there needs be certain things put in place to enable states undertake those sort of projects.

Some people are what Yorubas call oponu afonu fora (imbes). I said people should support and promote their native cultures and traditions and engage in the local festivals.

Does that automatically mean you should be "carrying" egun masquerade when a person is supposed to be at work?

The question you should first yourself is, "Do I support Isese by donning the egun attire?"

How does doing so 7 days in a week at a period when you're supposed to be at work help develop science and technology in Yoruba?

If you think egun is all what Isese is all about, then your mumuness na follow come.

Many Africans in diaspora even support their local culture and traditions even without having to come home.

The recently organized science competition by the platform, Science in Yoruba, was organized and sponsored by certain Yoruba people, who aren't even in Nigeria.

That's one way of supporting Isese, the local culture and traditions.

It's not it's until you travel home to "carry egun" (masquerade) for 7 days that we know you support Isese, when the past Yoruba man, an orisa (deity) called Egungun, may not even be the deity worshipped traditionally in your family.

Every house/family in Yorubaland has a deity, an orisha, their forebears used to worship before the advent of Christianity and Islam. The same thing applies to the Igboland, Ijaw areas, North, etc.

Some people are really daft.

It's to prevent happenings like this that freethinkers like Otem and I have been emphasizing that people should shift their focus away from worshipping a deity or god to philosophy, critical thinking, science and technology.

All these festivals should even be reformed and limited to just a few times in a year. Why don't they even combine all of them into about two or three major festivals in a year?

I'd urge the Isese people and other native groups to engage in the local festivals mainly as a form of remembrance of the past people, the ancestors and forefathers, instead of as a form of worship or devotion.

Worshipping a deity and offering sacrifices to them inhibit the growth and development of a people and limit the development of science and technology.

When will all these priests of ATR (babalawos and co) start telling people the truth that all the deities of Yorubaland and other parts of Africa are past humans, who were gifted people of the past and ancestors and forefathers of Africans?

They know the truth but hide it from the public.

Olorun, Atum, Chukwu, Oghene, Egungun, and many others were all past humans.

God or deity is a man-made concept.

The aspects of the African cultures and traditions about worshipping and making sacrifices to a deity are condemnable, which every right-thinking should clamor for their abolishment.

These elements of the local cultures are a bane to the development of science and technology in Africa and make the continent as a whole backward.

While promoting the good aspects of the cultures, one shouldn't lose sight of the bad aspects.

DSS is investigating a mega economic fraud involving Olam Nigeria Limited, Olam International and their nine subsidiaries to the tune of over $50billion.

In a chain of round-tripping foreign exchange deals since 2015, the company, through its Special Purpose Vehicles, SPVs, had booked about $34 billion with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, as capital importation at official rates.

But instead of investing the money into the Nigerian economy, sources said the company round-tripped the forex and sold to business men, especially oil and gas marketers and industries such Indorama and Fouani, at parallel market rates.

Investigation revealed that Olam usually directed the forex buyers to lodge the naira equivalent into the account of one or many of its SPVs during the period under review.
Although some of the companies have fictitious Nigerians as directors, the accounts are solely managed by the Indian expatriates, some of whom are based in Europe and Asia.

As the SSS opens probe into the FX fraud and anchor-borrower scheme deals that took place under the suspended governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele, the country’s secret police has uncovered a chain of shell companies linked to Olam.

sources said security agents uncovered traces of transfers into accounts controlled by Aminu Yaro, one of the ‘fronts’ of the embattled CBN governor.

Mr Yaro, who was previously investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been in SSS detention since July 12.

Findings revealed that the SSS had invited some  expatriates, including the MD/CEO of Olam Nigeria Limited Ashish Pande and some top officers of the company, namely Prakash Kanth, Sudhir Goenka, Niraj Shah, Chandrasekran Balaji and Venkataramani Srivathshan.

The SSS also invited the Chief Financial Officer of Crown Flour Mill Limited, Rajeesh Damodaram Valagulam. According to sources, Crown Flour Mill Limited is one of the major Olam subsidiaries in Nigeria.
According to insiders, Olam Nigeria Limited and their subsidiaries are the key FX speculators that contributed to the declining value of Nigerian currency, naira.

A001:

I already addressed this question before. I don't have the luxury of time to rehash the explanation now in a lengthy post.

I explained it when I talked about the issue of transfer of knowledge in a race or people across generations. I'd give a brief explanation:

When an intelligent person researches his history and learns about his culture and traditions, he can stumble upon some of the great works developed by his ancestors or forebears of the past eras and build on their works.

Some Africans luckily see some unknown gadgets and technologies in their dreams. That's their ancestors sending a message to them.

If such an African that got such a message act on it, he can become our own Thomas Edison on Africa or influence other Africans to achieve such status.

Some of technologies you see around today were messages some past people sent to modern humans and inspired them to build the technologies.

Mazda is a good example. Ahura Mazda is a past human that lived in places around the Asian continent.

Or you think the name, Mazda, you see all around is a coincidence?

A Yoruba person can learn about Ifa, one of his ancestors, and if he/she's into science and technology, Ifa, a past scientist and programmer, can inspire him/her to build a gadget that he/she will name after Ifa.

Then, when such a gadget is exported to other places, people around will start seeing Ifa, Ifa all around but won't know that Ifa was a man.

Many technologies you see all around are actually inspiration from past humans, which religious people worship as God ignorantly.

That's one key reason a typical Arab doesn't joke with his ancestor, Allah, and forefathers, unlike most Africans.

If an African luckily dreams about a popular technology of the past human eras (a revelation from their ancestor) and they're lucky to find the philosophy and science (developed by that ancestor while on Earth) underlying that technology, that person is on the path of greatness.

When there are many of such cases in a country or continent, that's one of the key ways through which societies develop and advance: The advantage of transfer of knowledge for a people across generations.

But if he's one of the mumu people that demonize their ancestors and forebears, he can't have such an opportunity. There are tons of benefits of promoting your culture and traditions.

Who saw Ronaldo, Neymar, Brozovic, Mendy in his dream among the Saudi Arabians or who among their sheikhs was told by his ancestor in his dream, to bring all those stars from Europe?
