[Congratulations!! quote author=M6ix post=125624868]Interview held in London Questions I remember: What are you doing in the UK? Studying, Masters What course are you studying? Answered (nerves made me stutter) What is the name of your school? Answered with name of the city where the school is How are you sponsoring you school fees? Its been paid in full with support of parents Do you work? Yes, but only part-time since I am studying Where do you work? Answered with job title Have you been to the US before? No, I have not Why do you want to go to the US? Visit a close friend and explained I was invited Where will you be staying? My friend will be providing accommodation at his place Where does your friend live? Answered Is your friend a citizen? Yes What is your friend's name? Answered How will you sponsor your trip? Myself and Parents How long have you been in the UK? Almost a year, came in August last year. Do you have family in the UK? Yes (mentioned the relationship) The VO smiled all through (and so did I...I think) She said some things I didn't hear clearly but as I saw her keeping my passport with her, I realized she said 'your visa has been granted' and something about email notification. I smiled and said thank you...then walked away Thanking God. Now it seems like many questions but it felt like 2 minutes back then. [/quote] 1 Like |

janda1: If you take time to read the last 20 pages on this thread, you'd find all the info and steps and planning you require to attend a B1/B2 interview and "probably" get it approved. There isn't much thats hidden by anyone that you can't understand when you read through. Your resume or profile as a person for the past 5-10 years will also play a crucial role. The VO at your interview has the opinion you (and everyone else in NGA) has the intention of not coming back, and the whole process (from filling your DS160 to the interview) is for you to demonstrate that you will return to your home country. What is your economic status over the years? Are you equipped to be financially responsible (equipped with education; steady job over the years; you own a business or hustle or company doing well)? Do you have compelling social factors that will make you return home (family, wife, children)? What role do you play in your current job (employed or biz owner)? How much have you earned over the years to finance a trip to the US (flight ticket is about 900k; hotel for two weeks is like 700k; you will eat for two weeks; your visa is a visit visa for vacation, you will need money for gate fee and Uber to Clubs to Disney to Madison Square to Miami Beach to museum, and all the places you are going. You will shop and buy one or two things. So to go on a visit to the US for 2 weeks, you will be needing like N3m - N4m Let's say you earn N300k a month, so you plan to use 10 -12 months salary to travel on a 2 weeks trip? N500k a month is total salary for 6 -8 months Remember you have rent and phch and Tinubu petrol to buy in Nigeria so have you saved or earn enough to pay for the vacation and all the social and job functions wont suffer? Every single VO have interviewed thousands of Nigerians over the last 6 months and they have heard all the BS and story Nigerians can 'formulate". They know a lie even before the applicant opens his mouth. They know Nigerian salary scale. They know what rent is. They know how bad the economy is. They know that salaries are not enough. They know there is underemployment. They know Nigeria more than Nigerians sef. So when you can sort all of these, your interview improves from 0% success rate to 51% success rate. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Dear friends please I need your advise. I wish for my wife to give birth to our child in the US ( She is a few weeks pregnant, so there is enough time to strategize). So prior to this time, in 2020 Feb we both applied for a visiting visa to the US and we were both denied. So far she has been to the UK once and myself twice with a few African countries for work. This time I want to apply for a tourist visa alone and if am lucky and get it, she will apply independently too. Do you guys think this strategy will work? Any better idea will be highly welcomed. Thanks in anticipation |

Hi everyone. Please has anyone flown to the United States via Air France recently? My flight is from Abuja, one stop in Paris then to the US. I will like to know if an Airport Transit Visa is required for Nigerian passport holders with valid US visa. Thank you |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fkj950ax(m): 12:15am On Sep 10, 2023 |
Keziahgarba2023: You don't need a transit visa if your ticket with Air France is Abuja to US. Are you spending days in France before heading to the US? Will you be exiting CDG into the country of France? |

Good day guys. Pls I need help/information regarding the following. I just applied for interview waiver and the date I selected is this Thursday 14, September. I'm really confused as to how to submit my documents and what documents to submit. I live in port Harcourt and my appointment location is Abuja. Please, how do I send my documents across and what documents am I supposed to include. I really can't seem to figure it at all. Thanks. Also how is my document/passport to be returned to me. Pls pls, I would be appreciating a response. Pls don't read and pass if you have answers or have recently had to send your documents for IW from another state than the one for your appointment. Thanks and God bless ๐ |

Similar experience for my then less than 2 years old A parent with "best" profile to attend interview with child (minor). Typical questions asked; 1. Is the child your biological child?. (Have her BC ready if requested) 2. Purpose of travel? 3. Who is child travelling with? 4. Does the above have Visa already (Have passport with visa ready) At this point VO checked the visa deatils of the person (parent) and asked questions like where you will be staying. Very brief interview, one or two question validating what the parent does or had filled in previous application. Parent with best profile (i.e Travel experience, Employment/Business, Income, etc) Ahuoyiza93: 1 Like |
