Is It Possible To Board A Plane With This Condition? by fadilaMaikiriki: 8:40pm On Sep 12, 2023
I'm claustrophobic. So, I'm wondering if I can comfortably board a plane without having the unpleasant symptoms and experience that comes with having this condition. Please, I would like to know. Has anyone here with this condition travel on a plane before? Please, I would like to know. This has been bothering me. My heart races so hard whenever I have this thought.

Please, I would appreciate your inputs.

Thanks.

The lighting inside commercial airliners is designed to mimic natural sunlight, so you are unlikely to experience claustrophobia once you board the aircraft in the company of many other passengers and crew. So sit back, and enjoy the g-forces as the pilot advances the throttles for the takeoff roll, shortly after which you will feel that wondrous sensation of flight.

I suffer from such severe claustrophobia that I NEVER take the London underground trains, and would rather hail a cab regardless of the cost, yet I relish the idea of getting airborne as a passenger and thus being teleported to distant lands in a matter of hours.

I'm being serious here please. And I know you won't find it funny if you have this condition or know what this condition really meant.

Wow! Thanks so much for your input. You really seem to understand what claustrophobia means. Thank you.

Having more space to move around and to get up and walk around when needed could make all the difference in helping you feel at ease. β€œIf you're plagued by claustrophobia, make sure you pick an aisle seat before flying,”

Your claustrophobia cannot be worse than mine. I even dread those enclosed revolving doors of banks, but trust me when it comes to plane you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I used to panic too until I gave it a try and later laughed at myself. You’d barely notice the plane is moving once in the air (almost as if it’s floating). An airplane is very spacious and well lit. You can try short trips within states for a start before flying international (long distance).

Request an aisle seat and you’ll be alright.

Off topic… You scared me you know. Been a while I heard from you. Will you please reply my mentions?

I also dread those revolving doors at banks. I also dread being in the midst of people in a tight or jam-packed vehicle, and many others. Honestly it's not a pleasant experience at all. The thought of being in such a place alone triggers a certain feeling, making your heart to race and beat faster. I don't think someone who is not claustrophobic can understand this feeling. It's a very bad feeling and a very bad condition. Infact, I think it should be one of the worst phobias ever. Some other phobias aren't as worse as this one.

Fly at night. Load your body with enough in-plane alcohol, then wake up at the destination.

Don't get drunk on a plane because at altitude the effect of alcohol is multiplied. Say no to alcohol in general. That chit is poison.

You can get an anti anxiety medication from your doctor. I used this the first time during an international flight and it helped me tremendously.

What if I don't take alcohol at all? Is there any better alternative to this?

If you can comfortably enter a car, why not an airplane?
The interior of a plane is far more spacious than a car.

The will of God for you is not for you to be Clastrophohobic. That is the will of the devil. Not God.

The heavens dont know what fear is.

Same way, the children of God dont know what fear is

Why?

Becos it is written in His word

"For God has not given us the spirit of Fear. But the spirit of Power, Love and a Sound Disciplined Mind" - 2 Timothy 1 vs 17

We don't know what fear is.

Speak this word over your life 20 times daily and you will start believing in it.

Don't let the devil give you a load which God who created you did not give you

airplanes have enough space for you to chill, you can go for business class where it will look as if you're in your living room. What of me that use to have the fear of heights but I was sitted comfortably in an Airbus for 9hours 45000 km above sea. I even almost slept throughout.
