Our predicament has gone beyond appointments, if you like return Soludo, the Naira will keep falling if our balance of trade is in deficit We keep importing all manner of luxuries yet export little, our oil export isn't enough to help because the commensurate import of refine products cancels that out. Why are our refineries not working? Why do love foreign products above local ones? e.g. all government vehicles are imported while INNOSON is neglected The Japa syndrome and love for foreign education is contributing greatly to fall of the naira We all are contributing to the fall, it won't get better soon until we change! 3 Likes |

Boldideas: We must first solve the issue of insecurity so farmers can go back to farm. That is the first baby step that should be taken to solve the economic crisis. Any other thing is secondary at this point. Bandits are currently in control of every locality with high agricultural activities. North central, North west and North East. It’s not a coincidence. 2 Likes |

minakom: Well... We can't blame him. Even those you all elected and appointed into power are doing and thinking far worse. An average Nigerian is not interested in the common good of his nation or fellow citizens... It's all about how they can individually benefit even from evil situations. 2 Likes |

Like Buhari used mostly his people while he ran Nigeria aground, Tinubu has not done away with that strategy. One thing about surrounding yourself with your people is that you surround yourself with praise singers who will never stare into your eyes and tell you the hard truth. Welcome to the job Cardoso, i wish you the best of tenure as you grapple with a failing economy. 1 Like |

Insiders familiar with the forex market told Nairametrics that the Central Bank of Nigeria remains the largest supplier of foreign currency in the official I&E window. If the I&E is lower at around N780/$ why are investors running to black market of N970/$? Are they selling or buying there? Nigeria and abracadabra economics are like rice and beans. |

Nazgul:and to summarize your comment is to move from consumption to production, that is the only cure, when we can't even refine the crude oil in our backyard but depend on refineries in Singapore more than 11,000km away to do the job for us and we buy back our own products with dollars, this is the height of dangerous ineptitude and our leaders supposed to be ashamed of themseves,, we have Africa as a huge market we can supply refined petroleum products agricultural goods and others but we are not taking the opportunity,it is no surprise to me to hear this type of news and it will continue to get worse without a proactive visionary as nigerias leader. |

wirinet: Never. Any body missing buhari must be a dullard like him. Buhari incompetence is major reason for the current situation. You are c in c, minister of petrol yet crude oil exports fell below 1 million barrels and you did nothing. You printed 22 trillion tru back door. No one knows what you did with the money. 1 Like |
