ayokellany:You have shown how unwise you are. Do you believe that common Nigerians should not ask questions about a refinery that billions of taxpayers' money was put into? Idiots like you are our number 1 problem. If we can't expect accountability from the ruling class just because we have not contributed billions as you say, then the country is finished. But what do you know? as long as you can lick Dangotes anus, you will be ok. Not everyone was built like you. 1 Like 1 Share |

tempest01: Even if it is 50,000 there will be massive retrenchment in the private SME sector. I cannot understand how wages can be raised by government fiat while other resources are being deregulated. Wages should rise with productivity not by compulsion. SME's will retrench, contract employment will come back and wages will drop to prior positions. You cannot beat the market. SME are being hit with higher costs, energy, raw materials and wages. These same SME's cannot jack up prices because disposable income is still low. If salaries rise?, cost and prices will rise and real wages will remain stagnant. If Labour cannot tell its members the truth, the street will tell them. Best to limit wage increases to the public sector. 1 Like |

Increase in minimum wage would worsen the situation. The prices of essential commodities would sky-rocket. The ordinary man that is retired or unemployed would feel the pinch. 1 Like |

Nigerians are the worst illiterates in the whole world. How can you celebrate increase of minimum wage at a time we are battling with serious inflation. Doesn't it occur to them that prices of things will skyrocket which will spell more doom for the country?..this increment should be discouraged for now. |

Re: President Tinubu To Set New Minimum Wage Next Week by Olamercy884(m): 4:05pm On Sep 20, 2023 |
This is nothing but a fake news. Tinubu cannot unilaterally set a new minimum wage. Maybe you mean to say a 'wage award', which is quite different from a minimum wage. A wage award is a percentage increase in the salary and allowance of workers to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal. 1 Like |

He cannot just announce a new minimum wage, they need to plan and also involve the union and all that matters, before any announcement. you people think running a government is like watching netflix in your home, una no go calm down 1 Like 1 Share |
