Kog45:I'm glad we have an Elder in the house. Would you place the said man as a defender legend? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Kog45(m): 10:53pm On Sep 21, 2023 |
Odunayaw:I don’t think thegoodjoe refers to him as legend but a England legend when talking of left full backs that have done it for English national team, rating across the world I will rate him as one of them that played the game, nothing much. |

Kog45:Na this straight no nonsense opinion na im I de like o Elder. English football used to be largely kick and rush. Mr Joe harping on him & Toby made it look like the new teaching the greats of old. |

Kog45: There’s no way that osimehn won’t be on Nigeria all time xi even if his career end today (God forbid) tell me a Nigerian footballer that achieved something similar to what osimehn achieved at Napoli last season? Mind you, the likes of Kanu, Mikel, martins, Moses all won league titles at the big 3 but they wasn’t as integral at their team as osimehn was at Napoli last season 2 Likes 1 Share |

Bannedlargedx2:Sir,my opinion and I said as it stand today, hope you see Osayi in my team…. Osimhen still have Yekini to beat and his Afcon performance will determine that, not even all time highest goal scorer. He is close to my all time team but Yekini still has the edge for now… 2 Likes |

Kog45: Aside if yekini, there are other players on your list that osimehn is much better and team has to select their best possible 11. Personally, I will have the both of them on my Nigeria all time 11 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Odunayaw:Joe drew our attention to Le Saux and Toby interview to drive his point and to be candid there is that wide gap now but the same Le Saux will make the present England team that’s having Chilwell. 3 Likes |

Bannedlargedx2:Well your formation but seeing Osimhen and Awoniyi partnership should tell you that either Yekini or Osimhen, one must be on the bench cuz Yekini/Owubokiri partnership against South Africa was a reminiscent of Osimhen/AWO against São Tomé. |

Kog45: You agree he is an English national team legend. Then try to downplay with across the board. That downplay is going out of context of the debate. The debate is about tactical knowledge, not comparing Le Saux with Maldini or Carlos or Puyol. Now, an English national team legend, meets a young player and gets some tactical concepts of defending from the young player. Then exclaimed that he learnt more in that lesson than all he learnt in his whole career. That is the point. Not comparing across board. The gulf in knowledge between Le Saux, who is a bigger name as far as I am concerned to Alderweireld will give you a picture of how the old guards are less informed tactically. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:In summary does it makes Le Saux a poor player to new generation players. Knowledge in football should not be static so not a news to me that Le Saux acknowledged the recent tactics in football or do you want the tactics to remain as it was ten years ago. We don’t need to talk much on this except if you are using the new knowledge to downplay older ones. 4 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:people are rating Zidane because he’s a clutch player, pinging 500 passes against Stoke isn’t same as pocketing the whole Brazil’s national team. Debruyne will be quickly forgotten once his career is over because he has no real career highlight. Had the chance in last season UCL but injury did him dirty 6 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: You are blinded to the point of absurdity in your fanatical fantasy support for a mediocre player. You said he was the best in the Segunda division but he left the lowly relegated Ponferradina to an even lower club Chavez FC This club has the lowest performance in the entire Portuguese league they have lost all 5 matches but somehow you think Nwakali is the best . Best of what Very Poor level 😞 players. Statistics are not necessarily conclusive then taken in context they are only indicative. He is so good his coach doesn't start him but leaves him on the bench. A player may get a 8.9 rating in a Chavez Portuguese first tier league game, will that make him better than a player getting 5.5 in the premier League ❓ Certainly not , why because there is a huge gulf and disparity in the quality context. So best player (highly debatable) in that context is still very poor by comparison to other quality better Leagues. You are a hypocrite with double standard, because you say the team is very poor but with the exception of Nwakali who is excellent and the best player in the team. That's simply ludicrous. 3 Likes |
