Trent Alexander-Arnold is ruled out of Liverpool's Carabao Cup third-round tie against Leicester City despite making a positive step in his recovery from a hamstring injury.


The vice-captain felt the issue towards the end of the Reds' final match before this month's international break. Subsequently it kept Alexander-Arnold out of action for those recent England fixtures, as well as Liverpool's matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers, LASK and West Ham United since returning.
