IbeOkehie:1. Nigerians are now experts in practicing what I like to term Lazy Democracy β Democracy by the people, not according to the will of the people but rather according to the will handed to the people by the politicians. They literally hand their mandate over to the politicians and then come back to whine when it backfires against them going as far as to claim Democracy doesn't work. It disgusts me! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Anyhow or anyway the poor has been surviving in d past then I think it's time to change their ways of thinking and find multiple means to earn π€ So my idea was that d government are actually good when we are painting them black in d past that is when fuel was #65 but it's now people can refer them as real black people right π€ because d fuel is up to 600 now π€ NVera: |

Kobojunkie: How do you cut coat according to size with very weak inhumane wages? U made people in a country where min wage is just $30 to pay the same amount for fuel a country like USA with min wage of $3000 pays for fuel is that not witchcraft? |

Kobojunkie:You have to understand that basic instincts drive humans towards seeking pleasurable experiences sir. The rich obviously have access to more pleasurable activities than the poor therefore the poor tend to engage more in sexual activities hence population growth. You know what this means? Driving more people into poverty will only lead to a further increase in population which benefits none of us. A responsible government would find a way to improve the economy without plunging more people into poverty. Now, before you ask me for what I would do, remember that I didn't campaign to be voted for in the last elections. They asked for the job so it's their responsibility to find solutions to the problems. |

VeeVeeMyLuv:I don't understand how and why you folks like to reason things backward for Pete's sake. Have you ever really pondered why the wages are weak and inhumane? Also, what has cut your coat to size to do with whether the wages are weak and inhumane, or not? Isn't cutting your coat to size supposed to be the common thing to do in any austere situation? 2. Stop with the inane comparisons and focus on understanding the reality of Nigeria as it truly is. You can't sensibly set the minimum wage higher than the earnings of those to pay it, can you? Cut the bull abeg! |

Kobojunkie: Stop the blame game and do the work. Place your focus on why the government doesn't have social aid programs for the poor. That's something. Let's start from there. All over the world, the poor still make babies. Making babies doesn't mean the government shouldn't play its role. They're two different issues. |

SeriouslySense: The thing puzzles me to no end. I think part of it is TRIBALISM. I mean look at Muhammadu Buhari. He literally destroyed the Nigerian economy in 1984 to 1985, in less than 2 years. Yet Nigerians elected him to replace PDP that had brought them a good banking system, made telecom services universally available and fixed the cement market, or at least made cement scarcity a thing of the past. So at least PDP had a good record of beneficial economic reform. Why did they reject PDP? Because President Jonathan tried to abolish fuel subsidy and pass the PIB. I keep saying the present phase of the Nigeria Crisis started with Occupy Nigeria in Jan 2012. Bola Tinubu & Muhammadu Buhari even told Nigerians back than that "there is nothing like subsidy, subsidy doesn't exist." The same subsidy....according to President Buhari in his last budget speech...has now bankrupted Nigeria. How far with subsidy? And Nigerians re-elected the same APC that lied about the simplest things. π Tribalism is a big part of it but Nigerians don't want the solution to that either. So they will continue to suffer. Deservedly so. Good Luck to Nigeria. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Kobojunkie:I am not saying the minimum wage should be exactly same as US own. But that $30 is too poor. It should be close to Nigeria contemporaries Our mate is getting between $150 - $200 even with thier Hyper devalued currencies |

VeeVeeMyLuv:You are not making any sense. Use your brain abeg! About 70% of the population are considered to live in poverty so that means the country does not produce enough to even begin to set a minimum wage standard across the board without possibly crippling the chances of a majority as far as business is concerned. Stop deceiving yourselves with fantasies that are disconnected from reality on the ground. |

Kobojunkie: I don't blame you. I only blame the half baked education you received. Poor sense of history or research will only lead to distorted deduction of issues. When China's population ballooned through the 80s and 90s and the government initiated the one child policy to curb its economic fallout, didn't they provide social aid programs for its citizens? Go and read. Then you can come out and claim authority. |
