The general, prevailing sense among Nigerians is that APC won the election.

The thing puzzles me to no end. I think part of it is TRIBALISM. I mean look at Muhammadu Buhari. He literally destroyed the Nigerian economy in 1984 to 1985, in less than 2 years. Yet Nigerians elected him to replace PDP that had brought them a good banking system, made telecom services universally available and fixed the cement market, or at least made cement scarcity a thing of the past. So at least PDP had a good record of beneficial economic reform.

Why did they reject PDP? Because President Jonathan tried to abolish fuel subsidy and pass the PIB. I keep saying the present phase of the Nigeria Crisis started with Occupy Nigeria in Jan 2012. Bola Tinubu & Muhammadu Buhari even told Nigerians back than that "there is nothing like subsidy, subsidy doesn't exist." The same subsidy....according to President Buhari in his last budget speech...bankrupted Nigeria.
How far with subsidy? And Nigerians have now re-elected the same APC.

Tribalism is a big part of it but Nigerians don't want the solution to that either. So they will continue to suffer. Deservedly so.

Infact l kept reasoning what a lot of people are going through in this time especially people that their income is not sustainable.

They just renew our hopes year in year out but things keep getting our of hands..it kept getting tougher year in year our without considering the aftermath on the masses .

Most powerful people have stored what they and their family will need in the next 10years not minding if other people could afford breakfast.


Something happened in this country that shocked me during COVID-19.... When a lot of people didn't see what to eat ..a lot of our powerful people are hoarding what they are meant to use to cushion the effects...it really broke my heart.

Also, recently they shared some Congos of foodstuffs for some category of people to cushion the effects of subsidy... What is meant to cushion effect of something every body is experiencing is it not surposed to be enjoyed by all..


I can go on and on.But,l have come to the conclusion that we shall deceive ourselves till Jesus comes.l don't deceive myself na who wear shoes know where e dey pain.. na solution to all these nonsense l dey plan as l dey..

I have said it before not until there is a revolution in this country...The one that will be more powerful than the end sars period...if not we are in a very long thing.

Funny as it is, no body will die out of hunger

The poor are already used to hard times and they already know how to survive this harsh condition because they are floating already since they don't have a standard

The rich suffers it more because they already have a standard and are finding it difficult to fall below standard because of class and position in the society

So in all, we must limit the number of children to two or three no matter our income

Then we can adjust in other things that bother on family

In my own case and for the past 10yrs now I and my hubby have cut down our expenses through combine cooperations

I have three children so I already prepared for it

For going to about two months now, I don't drive my car again to work but just to church

I don't go visiting people anyhow, we can chat or call unless when needed

I don't run Gen again at night, once we take dinner by 6/7pm, you are free to go to bed and if it must be on, just 1hr and you do whatever you need it for immediately

I regulates electricity at home because of prepaid meter and my husband makes sure we don't on unnecessary lights

I cook and store in the freezer to avoid going to the market all the time

I eat twice a day to save cost

I stopped watching tiktok because of wasting of my data

I un-installed candy crush because it sucks my data

Honestly, I have to cut down on so many things and still willing to cut down or more

With the above, I am not really feeling the harsh economy though because I have already cut down my cost of running my family during Jonathan's regime and am use to it before this shege Promax regime

The bottom line is that we must help ourselves

Nigeria's problem is, we have used the money of future generations to spend on welfare projects like subsides, free stuff, etc. We have also looted a lot of money into the bargain, and spent it on a lot of stuff. We have also entrenched corruption....and we have also developed an economy that is far too dependent on imported goods and services.

And right now, we are paying the price for being a 'welfare economy'

And it is not just Nigeria. Every African country has that same problem. Even SA. When SA became independent in 1910, they should have focused on using its large labour population to develop a huge indstrial base. Instead, they spent more money on white people and less money on black people. That fuelled the liberation movement....and by the time the lib movement took over in 1994, the black majority rejoiced. They had suffered, now it was time to enjoy. The result...mass welfare , at the expense of heavy duty debt.


If we do not change how we run this economy, if we do not become an industrial economy that exports, we are going to have this problem forever.

Forget PDP, APC, Tinubu, Obi and Atiku and company. Forget tribe, Nigeria must industrialize. We must rise up, and industrialise, or we would forever be infront of the IMF's door asking for more loans. Oil money cannot sustain us, even if we remove corruption and looting.

Same thing here in the USA, government welfarist spending and taxation is grinding the economy down. Unfortunately, the rich, productive and wealthy are a MINORITY in every country and the majority will always vote for socialist policies that take from that minority and distribute to the majority. It's human nature and I'm not sure it will ever change. Unless people start putting a premium on rational thought.

Oh not at all bro. What I'm saying is that there is a higher tendency to procreate amongst the poor than amongst the rich. The reasons for such include higher levels of illiteracy (hence basic instincts have a stronger hold on them), amongst other factors.

China had a similar problem not so long ago. The Chinese government put several measures in place to put it in check. So our government cannot run away from its responsibility. They campaigned and got voted into positions. Let them do the needful abeg.

If only 10% of Nigerians could be as smart as you are. They don't know how to adjust to get going even on a temporary basis. If one cannot afford a tomahawk steak, then go for new york strip cut as an alternative. Nigerians need to learn how to sew their clothes not according to their size but according to their cloth. If the material is not big enough to sew an agbada style, instead of going about naked, sew an ordinary shirt and trouser which is just common sense.
