AndSunGorilla:Andrew Uwe a very tall player and handsome dude. He was undergraduate student of University of Ife now OAU and still played the game in local league. He was a strong player of Nigeria league revolutionaries Leventis United that won FA cup as division three club. He captained Nigeria U20 team to Moscow 85.Uwe was a product of Jossy Lad in local scenes and Paul wonder boy Halmiton in National Team and captained Super eagles under Paul Halmiton. He was member of Nigeria Seoul Olympic team and Marco 88 where he fitted in for Stephen Keshi cuz Keshi was in and out of the tournament due reluctance of Anderlecht to release him fully.Keshi played just two matches and both against Cameroon in group stage and final. Andrew Uwe fizzled out after Algier 90 due to Uche Okechucwu rise and returned of Stephen Keshi. Also Westerhoff didnβt rate him cuz Ajibade Babalade and Isaac Semitoje are real covers despite playing in Nigeria league. Andrew Uwe was a charismatic captain just like Stephen Keshi and always seen as Keshi successor but failed to make it in Europe. Yes Ben Iroha and Ayo Ogunlana are squad players just like Toyin Ayinla, they are always on bench in Algier 90. Ayo Ogunlana of Rancher Bees remained the best Nigeria free kicks taker,he does it like taking penalties. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Is anyone noticing it, but there's an increase in egocentric football managers lately. Too defiant and stubborn. They rather die than change an already detrimental situo esp if that change will help them in the long run. 1 Like |

Talented left-back Patrick Dorgu is on the radar of Denmark national team head coach, Kasper Hjulmand following his breakthrough into the first team of Italian Serie A club Lecce. Dorgu has played in all the matches contested by the Lecce in the new season- eight in total in league and cup. Kasper Hjulmand praised Dorgu during his press conference on Tuesday, saying the Lecce defender is a very, very exciting left-back and he's being monitored by Denmark's coaching staff. Eligible for Nigeria through his father, Dorgu became provisionally cap-tied to Denmark after making his competitive debut for their youth team in a European U19 Championship qualifier against Georgia in September 2022. The 18-year-old was a key member of the Lecce squad that won the Primavera League in 2022-2023, scoring four goals in thirty three appearances in the regular season, before going the distance against Fiorentina in the playoffs final. Denmark U21 coach Steffen HΓΈjer revealed that Dorgu has some qualities that could make him relevant for the senior national team. "He has clear qualities, and then there is a lot of work that needs to be done in relation to both being part of the U21, but also eventually making the national team," HΓΈjer said to bold.dk. "My task is to make the best possible preparation for the A national team, so we talk about all players and their opportunity to come up." Dorgu has been selected in Demark squad for their U21 Euro qualifier against Czech Republic on October 17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhNRXUxJNZA?si=YIUJW65WJiZO8hsX 1 Like 2 Shares |

Boss man I hail your historical inputs Actually the bold isn't totally correct. Had we beaten Tunisia we would still have needed to face Tunisia for the second WC spot that year. Like you I also assumed the bold was true until I read up on it. aicon4s: |
