I must admit, I did enjoy my childhood holidays in Lagos (Victoria Island in the 90s). But as an adult, I can't stand the Lagos crowd and traffic. That's why I prefer my Akwa Ibom state.

Bad belle. I am Fulani but I have lived in Akwa Ibom state because it is my mothers state and after Abuja, Uyo - akwa ibom is the best. The whole state is safe and filled with life.

TRUE. If you're in love with cheap living, nature and STUNNING landscapes, the north is your best bet. I lived and worked in Taraba, and was blessed to have travelled across the state, and I must say that it has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country.

I've been and stayed in Taraba, I've comb Ibi, Wukari, Takum, Rafi gada, jalingo and more... Love the Jukuns culture.

The best state. Very peaceful.

The peace in Kwara is so lovely that at times i just take a cab from neighbouring state, go to Kwara and spend some hours to sip in the freeh air, enter bus and return home. I find the peaceful air so addictive for me

Am from the best state in Nigeria and that's Osun state ( IJESHA to be precised). There is no way you will call Ijesha without adding Thier Eulogising.

I have visited every other state in South West, they are like second home to me. Oyo, Ogun ekiti, Ondo, and Lagos state.

In South South, I have visited Edo, Bayelsa Delta, Rivers and Akwa Ibom

In South East, I have visited Abia Enugu, Anambra, IMO

In Northern side, I have visited Kogi, Kwara and Abuja

But the state I love most apart from my state is Akwa Ibom.

I served in Akwa Ibom and I can tell you that Akwa Ibom is the best state in southern part of Nigeria.

So my dear Nairalanders, tell us the state you have visited in Nigeria and the one u prefer most.

Wild imagination. Imo is not what you left 2005.. I served in Imo many years ago. During my service year, I did not leave Imo. It was so interesting that I hope Work take me back there after service. Mind you, I'm from the north and schooled in the north but I like Imo. Though, I'm advocate of diversity but years later, Imo has become shadow of itself.

Out of the 37 subnational units of Nigeria, I have visited 32 and stayed in them for at least two weeks. The five I have not visited are Borno, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara.

But the one I find most interesting is Lagos State because of its huge population and large scale economic activities which makes it a perfect competitive market where you really don't need connection to get a job or other economic opportunities. Lagos is the only state in Nigeria where merit works to a very large extent. It is the excellence of your skills that brings you patronage. Just be very good at what you do in Lagos and before you know it you can't meet up with the demand for your services anymore. Yes I understand that the traffic gridlock of Lagos is very frustrating and cost of accomodation is killing. But with excellent skills in your profession, you will easily pay rents and have enough to pay your way legitimately through that traffic gridlock. In addition, the economy of Lagos is the most diverse and its financial system is the most advanced. During the Emifiele cash crunch moment, Lagos wasn't too affected because people like me could still buy even N100 commodities (tomatoes, rice, eggs, and other daily needs) without cash as supermarkets like ShopRite, Just Rite, etc which abound in Lagos more than any other state still afforded one the use of debit cards to pay. Then most manufactured products are cheapest in Lagos because that is the very state where the manufacturing factories are located.
