Before deposition, this is how the argument on certificate forgery would probably have gone.

PDP person: Tinubu submitted a forged certificate to INEC.
APC person: But you know that's a lie. He did not submit anything like that.
PDP person: I am telling you he did that. The certificate is forged.
APC person: how can you say it is forged? Did the school tell you that? (knowing that there's almost no way the school will confirm such a thing under any circumstances)

1 deposition later.

PDP person: Now that it has been confirmed, you see he submitted a forged certificate to inec.
APC person: but that shows he graduated.
PDP person: I say person submit forged document to INEC, you dey talk about wetin nor concern me.
Did he or did he not submit forged certificate?
APC person: Obi is not as smart as tinubu 😌.

Good morning.

There was a keeper that ate meatpie on the pitch during an FA cup match against Arsenal a couple years ago, because sometimes betting company was offering very good odds as a joke he would eat a pie on the pitch.

People that saw the odds were fuming they didn't cash out....I bet the keeper did though.
grin grin come to think of it, I understand Ivan Toney's ban completely now... suppose Tony picks a game against a mid team and with the odds "TONEY NOT TO SCORE" Why, I'd like to think with his fate and indeed money in his own hands, the fool would be nowhere near the net grin grin

Tinubus foe has said it as it is - Atiku is winding ignorant backwater hicks who have a Nigerian veneration of ceremonial hard copy that is literally only worth the paper it is printed on.

It betrays a stupendous poverty of legal and logical imagination to say that the “forgery” (unauthorized redesign is a better expression) of a non-legally-binding ceremonial document of a validly earned degree invalidates the degree. It’s never mentioned in CSU’s diplomas that alteration of the documents renders them invalid because they have no validity beyond being decorative documents

Oh well tongue embarassed

You have a right and option not to hold them accountable though. It is actually not compulsory.

How people have demonised holding leaders accountable on this forum must be one of the wonders of the modern world.
Because majority of people on this thread saying hold your leaders accountable, are the same people supporting the bad leaders and attacking those who want to hold the leaders accountable. It is called hypocrisy in English

They want people to hold their leaders accountable, but they attack people for asking questions about the integrity, background or academic qualifications of the same leaders.
Supporting a very corrupt system because your favourite Party or Candidate is in power, yet be their shouting hold your leaders accountable 😁😁...

Whether a leader is bad or good he needs to be held accountable. So asking “these are the kind of leaders we are meant to hold accountable” shouldn’t come into it. Even if the leader was a mix of Jesus/Mohammed/Otem/Bertrand Russell/Marcus Aurelius, you still have to hold him or her accountable.

Also if you claim majority of the people saying hold leaders accountable are supporting bad leaders, you are implying that the ones supporting perceived good leaders don’t want leaders to be held accountable, which we both know is not the case.

All leaders need to be held accountable. Whether perceived to be bad or good. I don’t think that statement should be demonised the way it has been here. Unless you see it as a bad thing and want to stop holding them accountable, there is no point focusing on that statement. The focus should actually be on putting pressure on them and actually holding them accountable.

Infact, using this case of Tinubu and CSU, how should we hold him accountable?

I don't think anybody here is demonising that statement to be honest, they are just calling out the hypocrisy of people who tell them to hold leaders accountable, but still attack them for calling the leaders to account. Was it not on this same Nairaland people were being insulted for criticising Buhari Govt for 8 wasted years? Why tell people to hold their leaders accountable, then insult the people for trying to criticise the leaders actions because you support that leader or party?

Not tech bros but VCs. Once you raise money from VCs and continue to give equity, you no longer control your company. So founders just play along then sell their stake before they lose everything.

The sharks control the industry, mostly.

Oh ok. Well you have a point if people are being insulted or attacked for criticising the government, I however think the focus should be on putting pressure on the government. This other stuff seems to me to be really just a distraction, but that is me assessing things from a long distance away. It has been nearly a decade since I visited the country.
