Bestmanfornow: it's so nice that he is building walkways but I don't know why we find it so difficult to do things the right ways they forgot that there are disabled people among the citizens, people with wheelchairs can never use that walkways it does not cost extra money to construct. The problem with the walkway is just design errors easy to correct going forward. 3 Likes |

Henix:Really? arch. Chukwudi Ezenwa (CEO GSS Group) a noise maker? You must be kidding. That company you see owned by 20+ years old Anambra born is a renowned company which has proven it's capacity with several heavy construction projects all over Nigeria and beyond. Apart from Dubai estate Awka, they are developing one of Abuja biggest property (Dubai estate Abuja), It may also interest you to know they are major contacts of Victoria crest homes, etc... Many classic hotels in Awka and Lagos were built by him You need to work on your emotions if you think that a young man who is successful in his career sharing his works and lifestyle is making noise. 6 Likes |

jamjo: One hardly finds ramps designed into the construction of the sidewalks....and zebra-crossings are nonexistent too! Also, why are the sidewalks so narrow! Two fat people can't walk past each other easily without one first standing aside for the other or walking on the road! I think this problem arises because they don't build them on top of the drainage/gutter to maximise use of surface space! 5 Likes |

Does your glorified village Owerri has one road that’s built with walkways? No. But because you are dumbfounded over the beautiful roads with walkways, all of a sudden you remember that there should be the ones for the disabled people. Bunch of useless miserable people like you that comes here to spew nonsense should stay away from this thread. jamjo: 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Cheers to all those supporting such filth let it go on.. Now they want to work the road they should still leave it open let the filth continue… The new road built in Awka that has the tip of the lane padded as a “side walk”.. well is not the best but it is something better… this design should be allowed where both sides of the roads are already occupied so it will pass.. it is good If ANSG wants to build roads close to markets it should be built very strong and must have some basic amenities 1. The roads must be solidly efficient in quality. 2. The gutters must be designed to flow and raised higher and covered end to end, so that there shouldn’t be any opening what so ever. We all should know that where there is market, the refuses must be huge or in excess and if you leave the gutters open all of them will enter there. ANSG MUST BE CLEVER ON THIS. 3. There should be strong iron boundaries or wedge to make sure market and roads are purely delineated. This makes it impossible for hawkers trespass to the road . 4. There should be huge dustbins to keep the roads and access to the markets clean and cleaners always there. 5. He should also watch out for traffic too That way it will be a sane society!!! Cheers to the open gutters forum supporters… those videos are not the ones they want to see nor comment 7 Likes |

Bestmanfornow: You are wasting your time replying to a certified lunatic who is too bitter to see anything good in Anambra. He does not even know that only the beginning letter of a sentence should be capitalized. That is how backward some of them really are. Looks like you were not here during the construction of the Anambra airport when he spared no effort to show us pictures of London and Atlanta airports as what Anambra must build before he would applaud the state for building its airport . Meanwhile, he very well knew that even FG in Abuja does not have the funds for such massively extensive airport projects such as in London or Atlanta talk more about Anambra which would not be receiving as many passengers as Abuja or Lagos airports! Biko, learn to ignore lunatics and just respond to comments from reasonable folks. Although he started almost one year after we expected him to start the massive interventions on roads. Soludo is doing very well to also ensuring he has a sidewalk on all his major roads. I concede that due to so many road projects going on simultaneously, it appears to have red mud everywhere due to cars driving on laterite all over. But, you can also see that if he maintains his tempo and completes all those roads in the next 6 months, Anambra will wear a great look. Again, I love that Soludo leaves the gutters open and instead uses concrete to build the pedestrian sidewalks. Let's face it, we still have a serious refuse disposal problem. Our people still don't believe that littering the streets with trash thrown out of moving vehicles or dumped on the streets at night by residents of the area contributes to making our environment dirty and primitive. In countries where gutters are covered, they have a very efficient refuse collection system and it is an offense to drop trash on any street from moving vehicles or dump your household trash along the roads at night. However, in Nigeria, people still think it's normal to do these things. So covering the gutters with concrete without first educating the society on the tenets of proper refuse disposal and creating an efficient refuse evacuation system will simply clog up the covered underground drains in less than one month. This would bring us to square one where every drain is blocked and needs to be desilted to solve the flooding problem. The worst part of that situation would be that you will have to get construction equipment to first break all the covered drains before accessing the gutters underneath them. Which makes the process even more tedious and too expensive for any government to desilt the drainages. 7 Likes 3 Shares

Governor Soludo is really trying, but there is one thing that I would love him to do and I will be very happy as well as other Anambrarians. Pls those that are close to him should tell home to please complete the landscaping of the ICC building. Since Obiano left office nothing has been done on that project, it's on the main building that is completed, nothing much has been done on the landscaping of the entire complex. I know if Obiano is still in power he would have landscaped the whole place to world class standard. 4 Likes |

He recently awarded contract to the same contractor that has abandoned the ICC since Obiano left contract for the Solution Fun City. He would have compelled them to finish up their work at the ICC. Instead he gave them new job, who does such thing. Before Obiano gave them the contract to build the ICC, they had already completed the Agulu lake hotel project, both the buildings and the entire landscaping. So Soludo should have done same thing. And he has been using this place for different event, when he has not been able to complete the project to the designed standard 2 Likes |

Sirchibuzo: The best way to manage and maintain the Awka ICC is to build a functional 4 or 5-star hotel beside it and lease out both the ICC and the hotel to a reputable hotel management company. Then the ICC serves as the main banquet hall of the hotel even though it's a stand-alone structure called the Awka ICC. The point is that it would generate revenue used to maintain it and also pay royalties to the state government from the hotel leasing company. Similar to the arrangement of the state government with Golden Tulip Resort. The idea of piecemeal or knee-jerk occasional maintenance would always fail. For instance, if you plant grass today, it dies without properly being watered. If it does not die and grows, it soon becomes a bush if it's not frequently cut and attended to. Then the governor or commissioner would need to find casual laborers to go there and tidy things up. The best thing done at Agulu Hotel was leasing it out to Golden Tulip to manage. Else, it would not be in its current pristine state if had been managed by government civil servants and commissioners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWvZe86IMRU 5 Likes |

Bestmanfornow: Anambra is lucky to have Soludo because he is solving the Anambra roads problem from its foundation. His roads already show that he isn't just interested in bragging that he built X kilometers of "shoddy" roads as many Governors do! He wants to make sure what he built is really standard. Which is exactly what Anambra desperately needs. High-quality, well-built roads with pedestrian walkways! Soludo reminds me of Nyesome Wike's first term as Rivers State governor. He embarked on the expansion and dualization of several major roads in Port Harcourt which resulted in a lot of demolitions. It was a task that only the toughest of men could undertake. However today, Port Harcourt is now one of the best cities in Nigeria as a result of all that determination to do the right thing no matter how many years the wrong thing had been left to fester. The reason the previous Anambra governors refused to do urban renewal in any of Anambra's cities was that none of them had the courage to demolish numerous illegal structures built on drainage channels or built too close to the major roads that the expansion of such major roads due to the massive population explosion in Anambra cities became an impossible task. But Soludo has the determination to right historical wrongs by demolishing any structure that prevents the area from achieving its desired potential. I used to doubt Soludo's capacity to deliver, but after a careful assessment of his strategies, one can see that he wants to be remembered as the governor who finally made Anambra a decent and liveable place. May God help him to find adequate funds and God-fearing men to help him achieve his great dream for Anambra. 7 Likes |

Bestmanfornow: Work has started at the Moore Street end, passed Modebe, heading to Ochanja Roundabout, and it's a single tiny lane road, you are free to go and verify. The gutters are supposed to be expanded, but they are using the old gutter, trust me it's not good, and there will be flooding in that road. Maybe Down Flyover to Ochanja may he dual, but Ochanja to More Street is a single lane. 2 Likes |
