There is neither minimum nor maximum holdings in order to be qualified for dividend. You get paid dividend even if you own just one unit of a stock!

Trove's default account allows you to get paid without filling any e-dividend form while the other type of account requires you to reach out to registrars of the companies you're invested in to complete e-dividend mandate forms.

Check your Trove account balance/bank account balance again or get in touch with Trove for further clarification regarding your account with them.

Alright! Will do. Thank you!

I will rather deal with licensed firms with known addresses in Nigeria and verifiable on sec, than all these online third parties
In my case, I get dividends for the stock I have on trove within few days of payment. Licensed apps like Meristem (Meritrade) never pay my dividends unless I write long emails and fill forms.
Actually, my Zenith dividends for last year is still with Meritrade. Some hundreds of thousands which they haven't paid me. I filled forms for UCAP but I hate that I have to fill it for each stock I own.

Brokers don't pay dividends, registrars do. Fill e-dividend forms for each of the registrars where you have outstanding and scan back to them for processing and payment.

Your dividend is not with meristem but veritas.
Veritas is one naughty registrar, dealing with them could be very frustrating. My last year DS dividend is still with them.

Meristem (Meritrade) does not have your dividend; registrars handle dividend payout. For Zenith, send a mail to Veritas Registrars requesting for it. They can be slow. For UCAP, go to African Prudential Registrar website and fill out the e-dividend form.

In both cases, check other companies they maintain their registers and tick, so you don't have to process separately for each company.

Try get your CHN from Meristem and quote in your correspondences, for ease of reference. Follow up with the registrar via email, if delayed.

Yeah, but the difference here is I never have to fill any form with Trove.
I use Meristem/trade for majority of my shares though. But I'd have wished they can collect the details in a form electronically and submit it to the registrars on customer's behalf.

This would improve the User experience significantly.

To the gurus in the house, what ratio would you divide 5m between dangotesugar/nascon, presco and jaiz Bank.

Please support your claims with reasons.

Mr Emma, onegentleguy, currentprice, locotrader, custom price, mcy et, al, please your contributions will be appreciated.

I hope madam mcy is fine, I didn't see your hand since Friday here n you never replied my last mail.

Thanks.

I see some folks here especially newbies still confused so many things with respect to the different functions of the market operators and regulators.

Please note the following:
A stockbrokers primary function is to assist you to buy/sell shares any other service like helping customers to process unclaimed dividend is additional function that attracts fees.

Now in the process of assisting to buy shares, they provide online platform or apps for customers convenience. They are never saddled with the responsibilities of handling matters of dividend.

A trade app like trove is a different arrangement in which case, they are the shareholders as per registrars, so they collect and then Pay clients, this is not the conventional way so don't compare with the regular functions of a stockbroking firm.

When an investor buys shares in a particular company, the investor is to deal directly with the company through the registrars for returns- dividends this has nothing to do with the stockbroker in anyway even the said details of shareholders are gotten from cscs directly not from brokers.

The process and job of dividend payment is between the registrars and the company and they are to follow the framework established by the government through the SEC in doing that.

The issue that normally arise is when some registrars refuse to follow the processes already established by the regulators hence investors still find it difficult to get their dividend seamlessly.

Currently I think Africa Prudential and Coronation seems to be complying and details of shareholders are gotten from cscs such that investors are getting dividends paid without the stress of completing any forms.

I will advice prospects to always go with regular stockbroking firms to open account and have their details sent to the registrars through cscs.
Even these firms have both online or app trading platforms for investors to use and doing all their trading.
