What’s this? Super Eagles media officer said Okoye looked sharp in training on Wednesday and was welcomed by his team mates. Declined invite how?
I even saw a video of him training with the squad. That news is false.

Maduka Okoye came into eagles unmerited and used super eagles to rise, yes he was criticized by fans for poor performance against Tunisia which happens in football.

One thing he should know Nigeria will never beg him,so declined the invite is not the best way to express his grievances. He should come in and prove us wrong.

Dele Aiyenigba never got second chance after Guinea match.Daniel Akpeyi was heavily criticized and sometimes criticized unjustifiably e.g Mahrez free kick that can beat any keeper.Even Francis Uzoho is still under attacks from fans for poor performance against Ghana.

A lesson here,Nigeria should look in ward and give us a keeper like Enyeama cuz when Enyeama was discovered he was not among the sensational keepers in the league, the tops ones are Uche Akubieke,Austin Ejide,Chijioke the Arugo Monkey.but he came in and proved himself.
Baba, let him decline. Okoye is not a good goalkeeper. I don see am.

Boniface is my GOAT - Lukas Hradecky

Bayer Leverkusen GK, Lukas Hradecky was asked during a Q and A with kids in a club media function who he prefers between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo....

Lukas said, "Boniface" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sunday Rotimi was a keeper I thought would make it big cuz he is talented and has the physique of a real keeper but he failed to make it to the top.I will only rate Enyeama ahead of him in their generation.

Yes Chijioke Arugo Monkey was very delightful to watch, talented but very light like Greg Etafia. We have Uche Akubuike who then was pushing hard but not really impressed with him ,saw him live in Ilorin camp with Greg Etafia, despite his height, find small frame Greg to beat, even greenhorn Aiyenigba was better than him…

Austin Ejide had everything then and the door was opened for him but his outings in friendlies gave way for Vincent Enyeama invitee, sincerely Ejide was heavy.

All eagles trainer need is third eye to discover keeper even in NPFL and instill confidence in him.I do asking coach Amusa Adisa what he saw in Enyeama.Coach Amusa said he took him just 15 minutes against Kenya friendly and whispered to Onigbinde “we have seen keeper” to deputize Shorunmu.

Enyeama was not flamboyant,he looked like someone who got no skill, not six feet height keeper but he read his line very well with confidence and very calming in goal.
I am not a goalkeeper trainer but the bolded is precisely what I felt the first match I watched Karl Ikeme. He was in the championship but when I watched him in our first WCQ for 2018 WC I knew instantly that he's a good goalkeeper. Again, I'm no Gk trainer but the Maduka I have watched no be am. He's not just a SE goalkeeper.

Maduka Okoye is a good example of the fact that improvement is possible when you put in the work.

Dude has really matured. I pray he gets his chance someday.
Mature for where? In between the sticks for SE?
See there are some players that are not cut out to be SE material. Onuachu is one such player. Henry Onyekuru, Anthony Nwakaeme etc are not SE material. No matter their exploits, they are some players who do not have SE DNA. Oga Kog45 and Icon4s, as long time watchers of the SE, you can bear witness to this phenomenon.

There's this knowing you'd have as a fan that so and so player fits and so and so player doesn't fit. In spite of the rave about Onuachu, I never took to him because I he didn't click for me. I feel the same thing with respect to Maduka. Him no be am. Even if we give him 100 opportunities, he'd flop and cause us losses. I might be wrong oo but I really don't think Maduka would be a good SE goalkeeper.

Throwback Thursday!

Not an Elder but France 98 is pretty easy for me.

L-R standing: Sunday Oliseh, Taribo West, Peter Rufai, Finidi "World Class" George, Mutiu "Headmaster" Adepoju, Uche "Gentle Giant" Okechukwu.

L-R Squatting: Victor "Da Prince" Ikpeba, Daniel "Da Bull" Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro, Austin "Jay Jay" Okocha, Mr. Garba "Utilityman" Lawal.

This France 98 squad would and could easily have conquered Africa at Afcon 98. That 96 miss and 98 suspension is still a scar in my Naija football diaries walk down memory lane.

In all, You welcome 😁

Mutiu!!!! Reliable Mutiu Adepoju!!! Very successful career in Spain. He is what you call versatile!!! A natural midfielder, Mutiu played as a defender, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder and even as an attacker in Spain. Always ready to work for the team. A revelation at Saudi 89 alongside Dimeji Lawal and Chris Ohenhen, integrated into the senior team by Westerhoff and of those trio above, Mutiu lasted the longest for the national team and personal career.

How many goals did Boniface has playing for USG? I watch for technique and skillset not just goals. I watch football not relying on unnecessary stats! Put Zirkzee in a Bayern/ManCity/Arsenal team and see him deliver.
