BlueRayDick: This right here is the reality of Nigeria. We have over 100 languages, so the adoption of a lingua franca is inevitable |

akwesenana: Even we speak different types of Yoruba. Ijesha Ekiti Ijebu Ikale etc are dialects that probably can't understand themselves what we all speak is a lingua franca modified version of Oyo dialect which we agree is Yoruba If we are to break it down, in Yorubaland we will have many people who won't understand themselves 1 Like 1 Share |

larride: There are levels to difficulty. Ijesha might be hard for you to speak as a non-Ijesha but if spoken to you there will be a good level of understanding. Compare that to some dialects in Ondo State and Kogi where they will plan to sell you off into slavery while standing beside you and you won't have a clue at all. Ife, Ijesha, Ekiti are relatively close. I couldn't differentiate between Ijesha and Ekiti when i was a kid. 1 Like |

liveLongNprospa: Lol. Apart from this, it is okay to have representatives of other parties in the SE. It is a good bargaining chip in future elections. Let Ebonyi remain in APC Let Anambra be APGA Let Enugu and maybe Imo end up with PDP Let LP have Abia. Funnily enough, the one sided support that they blame the SE for has disappeared. Now, na other regions dey support one side only |

BlueRayDick: You understand them or you can pick a few words here and there and try to string them together. What those colleagues of yours speak might even be the watered down version of Akoko Ondo and Ilaje languages which is only spoken by educated and exposed people from there. One time I go Ekiti, one old woman dey speak her dialect, I couldn't understand anything but when her son replied her, I could pick some things because the sons version of Ekiti is the lightweight version |
