Working for Tesla comes with high standards of living. Nobody ever raised shoulder at working for a Chinese company like they raise shoulder when working for Shell or Chevron.

What is more likely to happen is Tesla pays 50% of the value of Lithium extracted as per regular mining contracts, while the Chinese mine and underdeclare their tonnage mined as they usually do, use it to make battery with slave labourers and all Chinese management, ship out battery and pay minimum tax after tax minimisation. If you check well, the money contributed by Tesla from just mining will most likely be higher than everything gained from the Chinese after "adding value".
