TheSuperNerd: Wonderful. I believe that one of the reasons we always deploy 4-4-2 is to maintain a good defensive shape given the obvious loopholes in our defenses. I believe we can achieve more defensively and even offensively in a 3-4-2-1, with Bruno and Osayi providing the width on the left and on the right respectively as wingbacks. In my understanding, they; Bruno and Osayi interprets the wing role better than the guys we normally station there. 2 Likes |

Meliforme: in my opinion osayi samuel should be used as a winger instead of chuwueze. He will be very effective as a winger. even in a 4 3 3 osayi can play as a winger while ola aina plays in defense. but peseiro is too dumb to see this. osayi is full of accurate passes crosses and intelligent play 5 Likes 1 Share |

Philosopher1979: This is another reason why 3-5-2 would be a preferable option to 4-4-2 if Peseiro so desires to play a two man attack.. I don't think Chukwueze fits into the 4-4-2.. For one thing, his abilities make him more suited to play as an inverted winger..... With Osayi, Aina and Bruno, we have fullbacks that are attacking minded... If Peseiro insists on sticking to 4-4-2, it might not end well for him... It's this same 4-4-2 that cost Rohr and Eguavon.... |

Philosopher1979:osayi started as a winger even for reading before being converted to right bank. The guy plays that whole right line with finesse. Nice idea. However I will prefer an Iheanacho with aina/osayi. |

There is nothing wrong with Super Eagles midfield. The present personel playing and in tge reserves are good and excellentto do a very good job. We are creating dozens of chances for tge forwards but tgey are profligate. Kog45: |

Paserio 4-4-2 has seen the Super Eagles created several chances in most of their games. Even the friendlies that we lost we created several chances. Against Mexico and Equador, Desser was missing sitter upon sitter. With Boniface playing the Amokachi role, Iwobi- Okocha's and Wilf- Oliseh. Then with Onyeka, Onyedika, Fisayo and even Iheanacho the midfield is good. However, I do think there is a player that can play that Iwobi role better (build attack from defence with precise short and long balls). He is Nwakali. This system will suite him the most. For Paserio 4-4-2 to work, he must never play two out and out 9 together e.g Sadiq, Osimhen, Awoniyi, Onuachu and Moffi cos that will leave the midfield thin. A Boniface/Iheanacho/Iwobi/Fisayo/even Aribo are the players that must play the 2nd striker role (Ball carriers, technical and good passers). Our midfield and attacking play in the first half against Saudi was a beauty to watch! Tella must be brought in to challenge Chukwueze for that RW. Tella might not be a great dribbler but he is an efficient scorer. Tella and Aina/Osayi combination will be a beauty to watch!! |

Mozambique v Nigeria at risk of cancellation as Mambas players refuse to train for two days over pay row Published: October 15, 2023 Mozambique v Nigeria at risk of cancellation as Mambas players refuse to train for two days over pay row The Mozambique v Nigeria international friendly scheduled to hold on Monday is at risk of cancellation due to a pay dispute between the Mambas players and Mozambican Football Federation. According to RM Desporto, via Lance, the Mozambican national team players are demanding an additional payment of $600 each and have threatened not to take to the Albufeira Municipal Stadium pitch on Monday. The Mozambican Football Federation paid the players $600 each for the friendly against Angola on Friday, October 13. The existing agreement with the Mozambican Football Federation does not provide for the payment of bonuses for friendly matches but the payment of pocket money is provided for. Mambas manager Chiquinho Conde has not been able to prepare his squad for the friendly against the Super Eagles as the players boycotted training on Saturday and Sunday, demanding payment of $600 each. The Mozambican Football Federation issued a press release on Sunday, stating that: ''it was taken by surprise with a demand from the players, for the FMF to make an additional payment of bonuses/pocket money from the aforementioned training camp, this being a precondition for the team to carry out the following training sessions, as well as the preparatory game against Nigeria scheduled for October 16th, at the Albufeira Municipal Stadium". The FMF confirmed that the money being demanded by the players could jeopardize the holding of the friendly with Nigeria FMF chief Feizal Sidat added that the Federation may decide to cancel the remaining period of the training camp in Portugal and ask the players to return to their respective clubs if no agreement is reached. Based on the CIV vs Maroc and Saudi vs Nigeria games, people are already saying that CIV will roast us I have been long in this game to know that yes, good performance at friendlies are good but they cannot determine your performance in a tournament like the AFCON. It has played out over and over and over again. Our team is gifted no doubt, what we need is for them to bring their 'A' game into the tournament. My major worry, which has been a major problem since the loss of Carl Ikeme is the goalie department. 6 Likes |

zuchyblink:Part of the issues Uzoho is facing is definitely lack of game time. Training practices and games are definitely different. We need goalkeepers who are actively engaged in playing at their clubs and not benchwarmers. If Uzoho see Turkey, Spanish Segunda, Scottish league, German division 2 or Dutch league go, he would massively improve. No reason why we can't try out this guy in Sweden and even give Adeleye or the best keepers in out NPFL a chance. |

Amedino99:By now we should know , JP is a 4-4-2 apostle, he doesn't care what we think. The earlier we know this, the earlier we know peace. Besides the formation, I like it that almost all the players invited have been giving a chance to prove themselves, it's up to the Jordans, Fisayos, Moffi, Onyedika and even Aribo to prove themselves. Although I hope Fisayo isn't been set up to fail as it seems he's been deployed as a winger according to OGN. That said, the starting players could easily transition to a 4-3-3 or even a 3-5-2 whatever JP wants. Also, even though Fisayo is to deployed on the wings (assuming OGN is correct), I hope he learnt enough from KDB, Foden and Benardo from his time at Man City to be able to function effectively as a midfielder or winger. |
