BlueRayDick: Investment firms also aggressively look out for those with CFA. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:30pm On Oct 22, 2023 |
Ibime: I don’t know about the entry level people but I know one bros own . He will be 48 this year ; he currently works with a venture capitalist and he’s one of the top guys having worked with one of the aforementioned companies and hold a CFA charter . He earns minimum of N102m per annum exclusive of other additional benefits . NB: He works with a venture capitalist; these people buy companies manage for less than 5 years , build its net worth and sell it for good profit . So he’s entitled to benefits that are stated in monetary value in his entitlements |

BlueRayDick: Na young ACCA graduate we dey talk, the dude above is late career venture capitalist, not representative really of the calculation that will go into deciding if paying for CFA is worth it |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:33pm On Oct 22, 2023 |
larride: Yes o, that’s why young chaps dey rush do am now . If God don bless u say u get brain wey fit carry first class or 2:1 in a finance related course or u get flair for finance field , na to find money be next challenge for CFA 1 Like |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:36pm On Oct 22, 2023 |
Ibime: I honestly don’t know how much they pay them at that point. But if it’s ACCA fresh graduate without any prior experience he will need to first get a graduate job and after few months move to be able to negotiate something better based on his experience . ACCA is treated as ICAN in Nigeria except u are working for a multinational |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 8:39pm On Oct 22, 2023 |
BlueRayDick: His ACCA comes with Oxford Brookes degree so they are treating him well Na the return on CFA I dey investigate. Each exam na N1m plus and only 40% of people pass each exam, so the reward for having CFA in Nigeria must be commensurate with that risk and expense to make the investment worth it |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:44pm On Oct 22, 2023 |
Ibime: It will be worth it in the long run that’s why I gave u that example up there . The truth is in Nigeria nobody will treat as much as u believe u are worth; he must be prepared to bargain hard and Jump ship as soon as more opportunities present itself . Nothing is cast in stone in this country . 1 Like |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:50pm On Oct 22, 2023 |
Itsrm: Exactly . In Nigerians company pay for ur experience and qualification. Ur current company may not appreciate ur experience as much as other companies out there will. |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by User09: 12:49am On Oct 23, 2023 |
The discourse here would be much better if some people stopped making everything about politics. People who should be smarter making a purely economic issue a political one. Looking at exchange rates movement/depreciation daily for the sole purpose of apportioning blames. Larride is actually right. I remember mentioning it 2 years back that the CBN needs to go all out and ban all means that creates the need for a Dollar. No reason why there should be such speculative movements in the currency. Its the only way now. As far as I know, dollar pricing is still banned in Nigeria and by the CBN. At least up until the time they are confident they can meet the demand in the short term

User09: people were and are fooled by these guys all the time. in the end no one knows for sure who will be the next steve jobs or bill gates, and FOMO exists across all stratospheres. same way elizabeth holmes ran street on VCs when i say ibimes people i am referring to the fact that Ibime is a streetwise accountant and he has always said to dispassionately follow the numbers, not the story/hype. it is a forensic accountant who is tracking down where all the money actually went. 3 Likes |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Nezzjnr: 8:13am On Oct 23, 2023 |
If you're a Young Graduate and CFA looks expensive to you. Please go for PMP or CBAP. Go for International exams... You'll get an uppershot than your mates with Nigeria Certs. |

User09:In that your post, you Still clearly stated that they can't stop aboki BDC cos a lot of their guys are making a killing there. Isn't that enough to tell you that the people in power are complicit as well? why won't anybody blame those that fought and made sure the criminals are ruling us? You came to gaslight.
