Yup! Its good to put out your achievements and reflections on how it would be useful in your target industry but when you go about posting personal verifiable details in public, then it might become an issue of disregarding data privacy.

koonbey:

How do you prove what you know if you don't come to the attention of the people who will make the decisions and get the chance to make your case to them? Those posts circulate, get people taking note of you, create opportunities for connection and engagement that you would very likely never have had otherwise.

You might find it cringe, and obviously some people overdo it, but those posts serve a key purpose and LinkedIn generally is arguably the most important tool for early career success, and especially for immigrants.

Hello

Perhaps

Even admins in some Ministries are not allowed

Sometimes the target is not the poster, but others

Cheers

MOD has different departments that aren't core military or intelligence-based. I doubt if employees in such roles have such restrictions - he may be working in one of such roles.

Yea duchess, that perhaps might be the case. A friend was interviewing for a govt role of recent and all information they got on the three members of the interview panel was obtained from their Linkedin posts.

Especially as heโ€™s working as a Data Analyst. The guy will be working with a lot of sensitive information. The announcement was not needed.

Hello everyone, please I need your advise as this is my first time moving into an apartment that's not bills included.

Is EDF a good and affordable energy supplier?

Which is better... EDF or Octopus or OVo?

Pay as you go meter or postpaid meter?

Thank you.
Try octopus smart meter ,they have one of the best cheapest tarrif right now, very transparent and with alot of programs you can enter for you to be earning some rewards eg saving sessions (get paid to when you use less energy ,spin the wheel of fortune etc . And their energy app make it easy for you to monitor the trend in your daily ,hourly even 30 min energy consumption and make it easy to spot any energy intensive consuming appliance you may have in the house .
You can join the octopus family by signing up here (https://share.octopus.energy/ice-light-81 ) and both of us will share 100 pounds

Hi guys, please help out with your perspective on this:

I interviewed for a customer support role and two teaching assistant roles last week. Yesterday I got a positive feedback from one of the teaching assistant roles and I accepted their offer. (Iโ€™m stating the roles so I can get an informed perspective)

But this morning, the other teaching assistant role (this one pays the most of the three), and the customer support one also sent an email that I passed the interview.

My dilema: The guys that called yesterday specifically asked if I had commitments elsewhere or if I need to put in a notice elsewhere to know whether to commence onboarding documentation. And I said no.

Wouldnโ€™t it be somehow now calling them to inform them Iโ€™ll be taking an offer elsewhere? ๐Ÿซ

Congratulations!

My dear, make that call, you can let them know you got a better offer. They will either let you go or match it.
Always watch out for yourself and don't be guilt tripped by anyone/anything when it comes to situations like this. Even those people would do same if they are faced with same dilemma.

Would you sell lands and houses to japa through the Masters route?

Or

Would you rather invest back home and grow that business to a multimillion venture?

Given Canada, UK, Australia, USA, Germany .. which country is worth the risk?

Did a quick search on LinkedIn and there are 27,201 people who have listed themselves as holding jobs at the Ministry of Defence. Just from a brief scan, job roles I saw included software engineers, analysts, accountants, intelligence analyst, project manager, PAs etc etc.

As someone said, it's based on the role and department a person is working in. For some people they'll be told not to disclose the affiliation at all, and for others, they'll be told they can't disclose their roles or specific project etc. If it was one where they didn't want him to announce, they'd have noted that in the job offer letter or attached policies. I'm aware some roles will even tell you not to disclose that you have applied or are interviewing, but merely being at the MOD is not enough to say announcing that one is starting a role there is risking penalty of any kind.

Being a data analyst doesn't mean he would have access to sensitive data sir. People with sensitive roles are in most cases carefully recruited for those projects. They would even begin setting the rules at the application stage, such as you must be a British citizen, must have been in the UK for 5 years, 3 years, must declare if you've been abroad in the past so so time.
