Empty chest beating of failures.

If we don’t joke with knowledge, then why are we not continuing with Awolowo and UPN governors free education

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner

September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

He is an Omoluabi (of Yoruba descent). Yoruba families use double N when using Sanni as a surname. On the other hand, the Hausas or far Northerners use a single letter N (Sani), e.g. Senator Shehu Sani.

Average Ba Debora without achievement in life counts his children in the university his biggest life gains. My street's guard has all three children in the ABU Zaria.

This actually have an impact in our lifestyle. The system here doesn't put the best foot forward, so evidences lie in successes of our people overseas. Also, we're relatively most peaceful and thriving region compared to others. We're easily accommodating and safe for people from elsewhere, aiding our diversity prospects.

Although, in recent years, from Buhari to Tinubu's era, we're starting to recede on the educational pecking order. We are now having many out-of-schools, and weak attractions towards education in the Yoruba land. This can drastically impact our socio-economic development going forward too. I wish the economy can turn around. I wish the drug abuse and fraud booming can swiftly hit the rocks and be replaced with better things of the future, like tech. I wish we could return to education massively and learn trade, similar to that of the Igbos—from them. I hope things change fast for us. Our growth interests me a lot.
brilliant analysis sir, I am not Yoruba but everything you said were fairly accurate though because I grew up in Yorubaland, when I was growing up those days at Ilorin you earn respect by the numbers of books you read, your efforts at earning a degree, your communication skills and your sense of fashion, but this days you earn respect with how frequent and how long the cannabis, it's really a wasted generation

Ilorin is, though, a Yoruba land, but has limited expectations in that regard. Ilorites used to prefer Arabic education and Mecca and all that, but I'm glad they are starting to ascend with the trend. If you had lived other parts of Yoruba land, I bet you would have been able to relate much better.

It is wrong to be defensive and insultive all the time after consuming what we don't expect. How is it a lie in that. Awolowo free education is not exactly sustainable in today's time, we no longer practice regional government. Also, free public education in south west is slightly better than what obtains as free public education in other regions, except that it comes at a risk of a stretch from people of other regions—e.g. during my JSS education at CJGS Egbeda, Lagos, students from every single other region populated the school.

What has regional government got to do with the failure of our governors to provide free education when UPN states provided it?

The students from every other state have parents who are essential to the economy of Lagos to generate IGR and part of the population for federal allocation.

Oh, I see. I don't know what you already know or studied, but i'm sure your knowledge of Nigeria's sociopolitical and socioeconomic history since 1957 is very faint. Go and read about that first. I can only have a discourse with you on this matter afterwards.

You had to go there didn't you?

Your claim about Bola Tinubu is false. Heaven knows what else is false in your writeup.

Bola Tinubu's alma mater has stated on record that he bagged a bachelors degree with honours. That is all. CSU has not (so far at least) made its honours grading system publicly available...for anyone to conclude that BAT had the equivalent of a first class honours. The school has not stated if he graduated magna cum laude or summa cum laude. It is simply not your place as a rank outsider to 'assign' a first class to BAT or anyone for that matter. That's not the way it works. How many times will this dead horse be flogged?

Instead of recoiling in shame at the falsehood of how a man could somehow teleport into the future and 'graduate' from secondary school a good 4 years before the school was established undecided...you bore us to death here with tales of imagined 'brilliance' and a love of scholarship by association. undecided

You are well within your rights to venerate whomsoever you choose. That is your privilege...or your (moral) burden...and it is yours and yours alone. But facts are what they are...and they are stubborn things. You and your ilk will be fact checked and any untruths, inaccuracies or outright lies will be strongly tackled and brought to the ground. You can be sure of that.
