The truth is that we Nigerians don’t like our own stuff. We prefer foreign items even if they are inferior to the ones produced here in Nigeria.

Also, our government doesn’t help matters. They tax new industries heavily, instead of giving them tax holidays for period of time.

That description was used for ALL car assembly companies in Nigeria, not limited to any particular one.

However, the 2 companies have different business strategies.

One produces to sell majorly to govt, while the other focuses on the private sector. Have you heard of this one or her supporters complaining of no govt patronage? So, there is no need to for govt officials to justify why they can't buy her products.

It is already sold out in just 2 days. Meaning it is n huge demand, for now it is promoting itself. If it delivers well and proves efficient for Nigerian roads, the demands will certainly shoot up even more. Unfortunately for customers the price will invariably shoot up too. We need more competition in our local automobile industry. It's going to be so profitable.

I remember as a kid I had a serious longing to learn mechanical engineering wven if it was with our local mechanics but some how ended up studying Physics (theory only). It's good to know and follow our strong nudges.
