Problem is; unnecessary accusations would be flying up and down if our dudes' favourites ain't invited.

We are too quick to judge local coaches, calling them names and accusing them falsely but if na Oyinbo, dem pure. LOL!
na our way na. We tend to give local coaches less grace than the foreign one.

Awo has left the camp. Injury issues. Guess moffi may likely start on Sunday.

I wonder if JPes is a Nigerian.......LOL! See silly excuses some posted to defend the players and the coach?

One dude was seeking Akpom's invitation like we have not got the department overpopulated already. Another dude dropped highly unreasonable defense that, perhaps they were affected coz the match was played on Thursday...LMFAO!

Fifpro Africa Best XI is back both for Men and Women football ahead of the CAF Awards.

I know we would have a few candidates in the Africa Women Best XI 2023 but for the men Best XI, I only see one player from Nigeria. Victor Osimhen as the Undisputed #1 CF on the continent. It is his time.

The point is get a good coach with tactical acumen, then give him time. Not just any local coach. Eguavoen is a Guardiola wanna be. He has no ideas besides trying to reinvent SE of the 90s. You need a coach like Amuneke, then give him all the support and time. Oliseh should maybe replace Eguavoen as NFF technical director. Someone who is always in the FIFA technical committee definitely knows more about these matters and would have better judgement.

Mujtahida:

Then when Amunike loses one match, we will call for his sack, then hire a washed out, journeyman oyibo coach who will dull our eyes with dreary football, then we will cry for an indigenous coach to be appointed and then the circle continues.

I never supported Eguavoen's sack. If we had let him continue, I believe he would have learnt some lessons.

Black man, we are always magical in our thinking. We want results but not ready to follow the processes that leads to success.

If Oliseh were the NFF technical director, any whitebman that desires to be SE coach will have to be very good.

A lay man asked; dat forum you belonged to, are you so powerless to influence some decisions in the glass house so that our football can move forward?

Please a background check Kosovo sorry Ibro Guso. I want to check something.

I expressed dissatisfaction when they dismissed Rohr. Rohr and the late Keshi stand out as the best recent coaches. I had low expectations for Eguavoen and the Portuguese clown. Considering the prevalent tribalism in Nigeria, I doubt they would permit an Igbo like Amunike to lead the national team, even though he deserves a chance.

Why not Gbenga Odubote as he has been busy working. Amuneke hasn't been on the touchline for a while and it seems he got fired from the online Zambian work he has been doing. My point is, let's employ somewhere who hasn't been job idle for a period greater than 6 months

Even teams like Comoros beat Central African Republic 4-2, the same CAR that beat us at home and we struggled to beat away...Zambia under Avram Grant look a very solid side, they beat Congo Brazzaville by 4 goals to 2...all the decent sides are effectively beating the minnows in their groups so far but we have a brainless pig of a coach who is waxing lyrical over having 70% possession to Lesotho! a team even Enyimba fc or Remo stars will beat.

Maybe we should overhaul this team of overpaid junks and just restart with the less known players around. Keep only Osimhen, Boniface and maybe Iwobi from this bunch.

Thr Mikel Obi generation of players for all their shortcomings were never this lackadaisical.

I'd have given Awoniyi 3/10. He was that poor. In fact he was anonymous in the match. Then awfully squandered a good opportunity to redeem himself.

I've never rated Awoniyi, does a decent job for Nottingham but he lacks that fundamental technique and finesse you need in a modern day striker

You don’t lose your coaching acumen by just being out of the job for a period. We need a coach that is abreast with modern tactics and is exposed internationally. I won’t go by NPFL experience alone. Finidi is also a good option. Tell me more about Gbenga.

I had to revise my rating of Iheanacho. I think he, Iwobi and Ajayi (because he scored), were our top performers.

Amuneke has coached in different capacity. May not have won anything besides the U17. But you cannot compare that with someone who only has NPFL experience. I will not rate any coach wirh NPFL experience ALONE. That league is riddled with poor officiating. Things may have changed a bit now though.

What did he use to score goals in the Bundesliga and EPL if not with the so called fundamentals techniques and fitness?

Because he missed one chance wey even the best strikers in the world dey miss na em make him lack so called......wetin? Osimhen self dey miss goals like that.

Awoniyi just came back from injury and not fully fit.

Was he not the same person that scored in the last match he played before thi for the national team?

He's an average player, I only care about what you do in national colors. Look at his mates in Ivory coast, Cameroon etc sinking minnows with goals. After Osimhen and maybe Akor and Orban the rest of our strikers are just RUBBISH.
