Your application is still within the normal processing time frame for applications submitted in the UK. As of today, the average wait time for UK applicants is 282 days.

Applicant who submitted in the UK can start to worry if his or her application is 10 months old, and no decision yet.

And for those applicantion submitted here in Nigeria, the average wait time is 106 days.

The processing time is just for reference purposes because some applications will fall outside this average processing time.

Please o.....I submitted my application for visitor visa renewal since Saturday. My payment included payment for biometrics. Up till now, no biometrics letter has been sent to me. I saw on this thread people who got their biometric letters same day they submitted. Because Saturday was a weekend, I thought I would get mine on Monday. But up till now (Tuesday), nothing. Does anyone know how I can contact them? No link to send an email on the new portal.

Update on this my post from last month. Thanks to everyone that responded.

So I eventually got my biometrics request letter 10 days after submission.
I didn't contact IRCC during the wait because the page said to wait till 30 days before contacting them on an ongoing application.

Brief details on my case: This is not my first Canadian visit visa. I also have a valid US visa.
My old biometrics was to expire in 2027, and I had just renewed my Passport to a 10 year passport, so I opted to re-submit biometrics so that I could be issued a longer validity visa.
Yes. They issued me a 10 year visa.

Here is my timeline again

Submitted my application online on October 14th
Didn't get my biometrics request letter immediately. It took 10 days.
Got Biometrics request letter on October 24th
Checked for appointments on October 25th and Scheduled Biometrics capture for October 27th
Got Passport request letter and Biometrics Validity letter on November 3rd
Checked for appointments on November 5th and booked an appointment for Passport submission on November 7th
I asked the lady who collected my Passport if I could pay for courier to return my Passport and she gave me a form to fill. I paid with my Naira debit card at her counter.
Got a series of emails as my passport was moved around.
I got an SMS from DHL that my Passport was picked up in Lagos on November 10th
I received my Passport with the 10 year visa via DHL on 13 November 2023


Please how did you book an appointment to submit your passport for stamping? Where did you submit to? Yours was quite fast

The new Portal is much more easier and less complex and it's faster also ... I would suggest you use ircc new Portal ..

I think plan B should be established due to the current news on VV. If you have more than 2yrs granted,I think other means for PR is the best shot. Gudluk

You will need to create a new user profile. I chose VFS Lagos and navigated through. Type of appointment is "Passport Submission" appointment. Just take your time to read instructions as you progress. If there are no appointments available, give it time and check again later.

If you turn your passport in at VFS any day before the 30-day window, it will be assumed that you've submitted your passport to the IRCC office before the deadline.

Note that you can change your appointment date too by checking frequently to see if you will see a new date

You returned to Nigeria because you are lucky to have something doing there, not like am encouraging people not to go back to Nigeria after their visit but there are so many ways to regularize visitors visa in Canada legally.

With a Canada visa, you don't need a transit visa to transit through any European or African country.
You can book your ticket on any of the airline websites or you can use any of the following to book or compare prices.

- priceline.com
- qatarairways.com
- wakanow.com
- turkishairlines.com
- eygptair.com

Don't transit through the USA unless you have a US visa because the US airports don't have transit halls and every passenger is treated as if the US is their last stop.
