Alcohol ban is under Shariah and religion, In most parts of Nigeria you can drink any amount of alcohol you can buy

Crypto people are still doing till now

Unless we operate Shariah law where we are governed by religious laws. In Moslem law you can't drink, can't gamble and cannot even get loan for interest

I am saying any government can regulate anything.

They can do something about gambling as an
epidemic. They did it with cigarettes; Infact the warning on Cigarette killing you is more bolder on the pack than the name of the cigarette sef.

Some countries ban open smoking, and the list is endless.

Na until Accountant general use ECA funds play 3 odds before the government go intervene?

i get the vibe that the gambling as practiced in nigeria is predatory and deliberately set up to be habit forming and mass marketed

marketed like crack - give people a small taste for free and hook them

people drink and a number are alcoholics who have destroyed their lives - but by and large i believe a large number of those who drink have it under control

if we have access to the numbers, i think we will find we have a very large number of problem gamblers

And where does it cross from regulation to human right abuse. We heard the noise when Buhari banned Crypto

Where was the human right abuse when Cigarette companies were asked to design their packs to accommodate more warnings than the product itself?

Gambling needs serious regulations and there is something the government has to do about it.

I have a very close friend in Naija that gambling destroyed him and it wasn't sport betting it was CASHY

There have been gambling from centuries whether in the form of pool betting, corner dice throwing or baba Ijebu, or Lagos lotto, something lottery or even if its the 7up saying you should be finding D-A-E-W-O-O under their botttle tops when I saw people using their scarce money to buy crates of 7up hoping to win Daewoo car or Color TV. You will open an entire crate, drink as much 7up as you can in one sitting risking sugar related disease pour the rest inside 4 liter kegs

Its hard to tell adults what to use their money to do without it crossing over to human right abuse. As long as its not causing health hazard to them or others

The country is even harder than before.

An innocent man would think he can augment his poor income by striking 50 odds.

They didn't ban cigarette even though it can kill you, they just posted warnings on the pack. If its hard drugs they can clamp down cos you don't have a right to take your own life but to blow your money, you have every right to

Betting companies too post warning e.g Betting can be addictive. but has it stopped anyone?

Uganda recently banned sport betting in the country, cos it was turning the youth to chronic addicted gamblers. The suffering in the country sef is pushing people into sport and other kind of betting scheme....

Many people have that type of moment wey correct your life. But the urge to make more is what will make you risk what you have currently.

You're absolutely correct here.

The government can take proactive measures to DIS-INCENTIVISE the gambling industry.

Banning all forms of advertisments. Going on an information campaign about the pitfalls of gambling and taxing gambling companies very high. That keeps it legal and ensures they don't go illegal or create a black market.

After drug addiction, I think betting is the next worst thing. With alcohol at least your belle go full or you vomit, with betting you go use your surgery money to stake even school fees

Same here, i don't know how they calculate their odds. I friend sent me betting code for bet9ja in 2015, i play the game in two places and was expecting to win big according to the amount i saw on the ticket. Only one game (Atletico Madrid) spoil the ticket, it was very painful. Looking back now, i just thank God i didn't win.

It is a terrible thing and more people are opening their korokoro eyes and entering the trap every day. There are people who watched that video clip who will start gambling soon and become addicts themselves. I can't pity such people.

This one and the visual game is what is killing gamblers most, you will see them lamenting about loosing so much money to betting. But give them small ₦1k to take chop, boom they are back in the bet shop. The addiction strong pass kolos 😁.

It's not stalking per say. cheesy

I follow mostly suspicious alternates here to determine who is using them. Whether dayo or nihilist who use these accounts when they're fighting to prop up talking points or boost likes. I've noticed that pattern severally when he's fighting or some of these accounts saying things which they would not like to say with their main account on other threads.

Take a look at these accounts and tell me they're not alternates. Look at every single one of them, some dating back years.

Know the meaning of the word.

This is the way it usually works. You keep finding a person making posts that resonate with you. Or you find a poster particularly intelligent. Or you find a poster with whom you share some interests. Or you find a poster entertaining.

That is the purpose of following people. By your own admission you follow people because you believe they are alternates and you want to 'expose' them.

The irony is that every one of your 'exposes' are ridiculous and cringe worthy accusations that are obviously in your imagination.

Add insatiable greed. I don’t bet, I have never played a bet in my entire life but there is nothing wrong with betting if you bet responsibly. I have no sympathy for anyone who doesn’t understand what it means to stay in control.

Only bet amounts you can do without. Irresponsible betting isn’t any different from other addictions. With addiction, your brain has gotten used to the release of dopamine (feel good chemical) and you are almost immune to the genuine feeling of happiness from winning neither would the grief of losing stop you.

Yes. Foolishness, greed, lack of self-control. Those are root causes of the problem, not innocence.
