i want to believe that those talking about streaming are young and unmarried people or probably newly married. if there are other options from DSTV or GOTV apart from Strong decoders kindly provide. I say this because what will your elderly parents at home watch to keep them busy, what kids channel will your kids watch at home, what channel will the family watch when together at home.....some of us do Cable TV for parents, kids and family. Streaming is for what you want specifically, i think. Parents, kids and family might not be interested in what you are streaming. Those that do cable TV should not be bashed because you are young and single, E get y they do cable. if things are better for the citizens, cable TV are quite affordable.
that’s your proof that nairaland is filled with kids. For now nothing replaces dstv or should inuse my phone as hotspot to stream a movie or show how about when am leaving home. Okay lets say i get a mifi how about the extra data cost. I know these cable repeat movies but for kids catoons i see no other option yet. Thats even why i sub i hadly watch cable unless i want to trick my son that’s when i act like i watch his catoon with him. For now no other options yet

1.Streaming is eating into Multichoice's profits. An Amazon prime and Netflix cost less than 5000 EACH a month for a package that offers you more than what Multichoice can offer

2.The economy is bad, and not just in Nigeria. Multichoice is struggling even in South Africa. In SA, for example, numbers of Premium subscribers are falling.

Shut up there..
Who asked you?
if the economy is bad..not only in Nigeria
then why are you idiots running away from the country.. why not stay and enjoy the emilokan tenure..

You lots must suffer the consequences of your foolery

my subscription expired on 7th October, and I don't intend paying, DSTV should continue to hike the subscription every month, I don't care a hoot!

When you are ready , you pack and go back to SA.

Your service is not essential to those who have sense, it is killing our local sports and entrepreneurship.

Almost every senseless person in Nigeria, had been hypnotised to believe that supporting and watching foreign football club, is a status symbol, including those ridden with poverty.

Whereas the more they support, the more the dollars the reap out of Nigeria.

EPL alone, reaps circa 5billion British pounds, from Africa, annually, chunk of which is from Nigeria!

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

The only reason I watch DStv is football. Other than that I no send DStv. Infact it's more cost effective to buy router & data with your subscription fee and stream anything you want to view.
and can you stream anything for 6 hours nonstop and not feel the heat I have done this thing you say by buying firestick bought 1 year IPTV subscription and bought a terabyte data of 1 year for 100k Bros I no use am for 8 months..the best option is FTA on arabsat

Cable is still cheaper. Don't you use data to stream? Or Is it free on Netflix?

FTA isn't bad if you no send Netflix and don't use BitTorrent clients. Wait why would I stream for 6 hrs straight

When they are ready to move out nobody will tell them. I was telling their customer representative the other time, was asking her why do I need DSTV?? I have got Netflix, shomax free subscription, prime video, even football I stream it on the internet. I wish them all the best in their corporate life endeavors.

Na mumu still dey subscribe dstv in this era of fuel subsidy. Unless u run a hotel or joint that needs dstv to make money. Just get an Android box and router and stream the world of endless entertainment. With Netflix and prime video why do I need to put a hole in my pocket to watch those old movies on dstv

We don't know what will break this monopolistic Company.. especially the sport channels.

They know we love football and they have exclusive rights for EPL and UCL angry angry

Everyone saying they will buy data and router and calling those using DSTV mumu no talk true...streaming football can NEVER be same as watching on Cable TV... streaming no even near am!

If you wan use better network for Nigeria to stream, the pay is more than DSTV subscriptions...we are talking about Starlink for example.
me self i want to ask which network, dem dem dey use stream

Just a reminder Tinubu doesn't give a fvck about you or whatever you go through, he doesn't even need your vote or support in 2027 to get reelected...

We count you guys serious before until we saw that cyber bullying religious and ethnic card you guys want to pay, I as a person never regret supporting Tinubu because we belive strongly in him, Rome was not build in a day,.on his mandate we shall stand

I really pity them, they better change their business model to inci weekly or daily packages ... because their service is not something that is essential to people..That way they are Jack their price up and the person subscribing would enjoy maximum benefit, instead of having a idle decoder ..

You don forget say you go need data to do that streaming wey you dey talk about.

At the end of the day it becomes a case of penny wise pounds foolish.
Except you have a great deal on data.

I am willing to learn, so when you consider the amount you spend on data to enjoy your content streaming services, do you still think it's not wise to subscribe for satellite/cable service.
