KwuoteYourFada: Go back and read the book and stop hallucinating here. He said his ancestors are from Benin not under Benin. Instead of you to counter him with valid points you are here shouting as if shouting will change history. Talking about size, Edo state is bigger than 3 Southeast states put together. I guess you didn't know that before but go and verify. Edo state is a liberal state and no one forces religion on anyone. I dont know how that is a problem to you. I have seen igbos who are muslim too. Religious affiliation is a personal thing. 1 Like |

You guys are just confusing the entire space for goodness sake! Last month it was a fight if The Benin kingdom created Lagos and now the paradigm shifted to the Benins' and Onitsha and by extension the entire Southeastern region.... I remember that the Igbos are Jewish by genealogy except the records are thwarted somehow while the Benins are the descendants of Oduduwa from the southwestern Nigeria. Oduduwa himself was said to have migrated from Saudi Arabia. There's another history in our recent past that Onitsha kingdom is a directly from Ile- Ife..... Would all these coocked up stories do us any good? |

Re: Nnamdi Azikiwe: Eze Chima (PRINCE OHIMA) left Benin to Establish Onitsha (photo) by sotall(m): 11:26am On Dec 11, 2023 |
agadez007: Who dont what? An Edo man born and brought up in Edo state will understand over 80% of what an Esan person says and vice versa. Its even same for Igbos, not everyone speaks central igbo. Some have a version of igbo language thats distinct from the central one. Its also same with Yoruba. I grew up in Lagos and i understand the Yorubas they speak. But when some Yorubas from the hinterland speak their own version, you can only pick a few words. It doesn't mean its not Yoruba. And all these talk about Bini....Benin is just a popular term used to describe those who were around the city where the king rules from centuries ago.it was made popular by the whiteman. In Edo culture or even Language, we dont recognize Bini. Its not even a word. We call ourselves Edo and our language is called Edo. Its not Bini. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Now we know why the North will never forgive you guys. While our King and our people fought bravely with the British, where were your kinsmen? Obviously inside bush roaming the forests with monkeys. spearman:Modern Onitsha (i.e., The home town of the Nigerian-American Scientist, Philip Emeagwali) first had an Igala presence before the arrival of the migrants from the Benin Empire. Igalas as you know are classified linguistically as Yoruboid and have mixed ethnic ancestries from Wukari (Jukun), plus a significant Yoruba, Edo, roots, etc, according to a 2017 exclusive interview that the then Attah of Igalaland, HRM Ameh Michael Oboni granted to Sunday Punch newspaper. The Obi of Onitsha once said clearly in a 2017 Ofala festival documentary I watched that it was the Igala boat people who took his ancestors across the River Niger from the Delta State axis about 500 years ago and that he personally has Edo, Igala, and Ibo ancestry. This is why there are up to 8 quarters in Onitsha indicating the Igala, Edo, Nri ethnic origins and cultures of the Onitsha folks. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

gidgiddy:That does not matter really even if true. The reality is what you have said applies to Iboes. They cannot explain what Onitsha means too Alternatively Yoruba can claim it is a corruption of the word Orisha The simple reality is the meaning of the name of a town is often untraceable What for example does Benin mean? |

KwuoteYourFada: You have no point again! Now is to come and rant and say una too small. Two years to what? Need i remind you it was the British that gave you the Kings you now call Eze? When they came you guys were roaming in the bush and they had to give the sellouts amongst you their red headwarmer to use as your identity. Now everywhere you go, your chiefs and kings go everywhere with a red headwarmer given to them by the British. If othet tribes in Nigeria are talking of history, you guys should go and sleep cos you got nothing worthwhile to talk about aside roaming in the bush with monkeys. We even had your people as our slaves and sold many of you out. If you need me to tell you your history, i will be glad to spill it here. |
