Most would not. Some Freelancers or remote workers only pay tax because their foreign clients require them to provide proof of tax compliance before continuing the relationship.

We are yet to get to an effective level of voluntary income declarations. In societies where it works like the US, there are institutional controls that seriously discourage tax evasion and keep people in check.

Government also has to do a lot better in putting tax funds to visible helpful use for the public. This improves public confidence and cooperation.

Left to free will, tax otilor - regardless of location.

Yes....because of something called the tax clearance certificate, that seems to become important when running or being considered for political appointment. cheesy
