Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday said the country’s forces would continue their fight against Hamas.

He said this in a national broadcast posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Netanyahu said, "We are continuing the war to the end. It will continue until Hamas is eliminated – until victory.

"Whoever thinks that we will stop is detached from reality. We will not stop the fighting until all of the goals that we have set are achieved: The elimination of Hamas, the release of our hostages and the removal of the threat from Gaza.

"We are attacking Hamas with fierce fire, everywhere, including today. We are also attacking their accomplices near and far.

"All Hamas terrorists, from the first to the last, are dead men walking. They have only two possibilities: Surrender or die."

Hamas operatives attacked Israel on October 7, killing around 1,200 people and taking roughly 240 hostages.

In the weeks that have followed, Israeli strikes have killed about 19,000 in Gaza including women and children while more than 50,000 have been injured, according to recent figures released by the Gaza Health Ministry. Some 135 UNRWA staff have been killed, and Israeli strikes on the agency’s schools, clinics, and offices have killed 270 people and wounded more than 1,000, the head of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, recently said.
