Capital flight! Tell MBAH to discuss with an investor for an aviation training college.
We need one in the east.

It will come.

The planned explanation of AIA with an MRO and Cargo terminal will give way to that.

I remember some years back, Umahi was addressing the press on governance and what his gov't had achieved so far in Ebonyi state. The issue of the states solid minerals came up and he lamented that companies were exploiting and taking out truckloads of the states' solid minerals...especially at night, and when state gov't officials confront them they're shown 'approval documents' which the criminal miners claim were issued to them by ABUJA!

Fast-forward a few years, and i'm sat eating a tuna-melt sandwich and watching AriseTV news (yesterday the 18th). There's a report on the Mbah gov't of Enugu state clamping down on numerous mining sites littered all over the state! And guess what...you wouldn't believe it; when the state task force clamping down on the daylight robbery and raping of Enugu state resources asked one of the operators of the mining sites for their documents authorising them to expoit the solid minerals they're exploiting, the answer they were given was that the so called miners got the relevant 'permits' from ABUJA!

You see, when i complain about how Ndigbo are being treated and cheated in Nigeria, it's for good reason! God knows for how long this rape of our resources has been going on and how many bllions of dollars states in the south-east have lost over the period; plundered resources now used to enrich other regions, their entrepreneurs and their politicians, while the criminals overseeing the heist turn around to mock the very people they're stealing from.....saying Alaigbo is 'barren' and a Igbo will never be president!

This is Nigeria for you!

Projects Galore as Mbah Flags off Construction of New Enugu City, 40km dual carriageway, 71 Urban Roads
It was projected galore, Thursday, as the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, flagged off the construction of New Enugu City roads made up of 17km dual carriageway and feeder roads, 40km Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Neke-Ikem dual carriageway, and the construction/reconstruction of 71 urban roads in Enugu capital city.
At the Premier Layout road project awarded to IDC Construction Limited where he carried out the symbolic flag-off of the construction/reconstruction of 71 urban roads, Mbah assured that the urban roads would be simultaneously executed and delivered before the end of December.
“These 71 roads as identified in the first phase will be completed between now and December. The funds for these roads have been secured. So, there is no reason the contractors will not complete these roads as and when due. We are not going to entertain any variation, any delay or time overrun because the funds will be provided and we will ensure that we put in place a close monitor to ensure not only that the standards we have agreed are met, but also that the timelines are met strictly.
“We are also providing the highest quality of roads. We are all making sure that the roads are well-paved. You are not going to have open drainage so that you will have pedestrian parts well paved, you will have streetlights and roads that will last us a long time”, he stated.
At the flag-off of the New Enugu City roads project, which sits on 10,000 hectares of land off Enugu-Abakaliki Road and traverses Enugu East, Enugu North, Enugu South, and Nkanu West LGAs, Mbah reiterated his administration’s determination to restore Enugu to its number one position in Nigeria and beyond.
He said the project being handled by China Communication Construction Company, CCCC, would rub shoulders with any great city in the world, stressing that “we will have a functional New Enugu City between now and the next 24 months”.
“We are here not only to witness the construction of a road, we are here to witness the construction of infrastructure. In this New City, we are going to have a dedicated power project, a central sewage system, high-speed internet, and there is hardly anything you will find in any modern smart city that you will not find in this City”.
He said the first phase of the project would cover 26 square kilometres comprising the Happy Island, the Vitality Bay, and the Innovation Park in line with the purposes the New City is to serve.
Also flagging off the construction of the 40km Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu- Neke-Ikem dual carriageway, the governor said the new government was bent on constructing at least 10,000km of roads in the next eight years to open the space for investors and make life better for Enugu people.
“This 40km dual carriageway road is going to be a major gateway to the North Central and it is going to open up our rural areas.
“Recall that we said we are going to unlock our rural economy and the best way to do that is to ensure that we have access roads to our farmlands and we will also create special economic zones in our rural areas. But we are not thinking about agriculture as food only, but also as export commodities”.
Mbah said put at 400km the total length of roads flagged off for construction in the first phase of the government’s quest to build 10,000km of roads.
Speaking, the contractors, including the Deputy Managing Director of CCCC Nigeria, Henry Li, assured the government of first-rate projects and early competition.
“As the contractor entrusted with this significant undertaking, we recognise the responsibility that comes with it. We pledge our unwavering commitment to delivering the benchmark road on time and with the highest quality”, he stated.
Meanwhile, the overjoyed communities, who trooped out with their leaders, including traditional rulers, and council chairmen, thanked the governor for the massive projects, promising to cooperate with both the government and contractors to ensure speedy and hitch-free completion of the projects.

What of Imo and Ebonyi states!? It doesn’t come as a surprise to me that these two states, whose present gov’ts DON’T excite me or give me any hope or positive feelings whatsoever, are the two states stolen by APC using willing house-nigger and self-hating Igbo politicians! And i say this bearing in mind Umahi did relatively well in the provision of infrastructure during his tenure….just that when you dine with pigs, you’re bound to get dirty, think dirty and act dirty too, and this is what has happened to Umahi in Ebonyi! He has allowed his personal ambition ruin what could have been a worthy legacy in Ebonyi state in particular and South-East in general!

Yeah, APC is nemesis in SE.

I don't also like Umuahi and his "do or die" politics.

His human rights abuses were too much

what has being in APGA and PDP etc benefited SE? It's about what you can deliver to your people and not about your political party. Umahi has done well in all ramifications and had gotten to the center that will benefit SE. Don't be sentimental because he's not in your APGA or PDP, he's an intelligent politician knowing how to play at the centre to bring dividends of Development To us.

He's now minister of works and good things are coming to SE soon.

Oga post picture I of any complete project by Mba. We have seen that of nwifuru and Otti who are hhis mates in governance .

Chimatoke was sworn in on May 1999 and by December he has completed obollo afor enjugu ezike road , the road is still in perfect condition today 24years after despite most of the construction being done during raining season. Now somebody that is expected to do at least 1250 kilometers of road in a year (as he promised) is waiting for rain to stop.

As for your accusation about Ekpa , I don't know where you got that from.
The only good thing l have seen Mba do so far is fighting and stopping sit at home in Enugu he really fought like a man and that made me have confidence in him despite his late start.

you have to be sure before accusing someone so you don't look stupid

Why do we usually use the word 'urban' in enugu state, enugu state use the word more than any state in Nigeria and I think it is demeaning. Enugu should go with words like city or metropolis.
The word urban for me conotes a small town

I have never heard Onitsha urban , Aba urban , Port Harcourt urban it is only used in Enugu state and each time I hear it what comes to my mind is a semi rural area.
I don't know if it is only Enugu people that saw "urban" in the dictionary.
