The only incentive for relocating to the west is the exchange rate.....nothing more... The working conditions is far worse. The taste of their food is another disaster for an immigrant. Nigerian in the west are only pretending to be better off than those in Nigeria.....and to perfect the lies.......they post their earrings and expenditures in Naira online.........what else can be deceiptful that earnings and spending in dollars but your calculation is in naira..........gross inferiority complex at it peak One of my uncle in New York told; when you leave that country (Nigeria) then you'll understand how bad the country is....... meanwhile up till now, he is unable to secure a reasonable career driven job.... 5 Likes 2 Shares |

If your combined income as a couple is less than 1m-1.5m in naija, you can afford to Japan and you are still younger than 45-50, please Japa! Cost of living is lower in naija but where is the money to buy those things? Standard of living is below acceptable standard despite the low cost of living, so what's the gain? If you can afford to travel for vacation or even work, stay in naija and travel when necessary but if you can't even afford to renew your passport not to talk of traveling abroad, please Japa! 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Helgreenluv: Stop this abeg. Everybody won't succeed abroad, same way everyone won't do well here in Nigeria. Different strokes. You are demonizing abroad as if your nation is any better, or everyone lives better lives here than those abroad. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hmmm even though I disagree with some of your points, this is a good read. Thumbs up to the OP. If anyone feels leaving Nigeria is the best bet for them, let them leave given the opportunity. As for me, despite the fact that the opportunity isn't here yet, I don't think I want to leave my country when it eventually comes. My youngest brother who resides in the UK was complaining to me the other day that aside the economic advantage the UK has over Nigeria, that Nigeria is better than the UK in a lot of ways, he misses Nigeria so much. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

If Nigeria is not save then u should have died for long but u are still alive.. For nepa u buy unit then when no light ur unit remains .. What the OP was actually emphasing is that Japa doesn't determine riches and financial free instead u can still achieve those things in Nigeria .. So he is right π madone: 2 Likes 1 Share |

IF NIGERIA is truly better at raising kids, who is then responsible for these Adults and Kids conducting widespread Jungle Justice across Nigeria. No day passes without hearing cases similar to that of Deborah, even in higher institutions. Just at the mere screaming of Thief, humans in Nigeria roll out Tyres, petrols and their phones. Who own those Kids and Adults.? Are they also part of the well nurtured kids. Are our politicians well raised? Are our Clergymen well raised? Who is truly well raised in Nigeria? Sometimes you Guys come up with baseless facts in the midst of ravaging fire. 6 Likes |

madone: My bro you exaggerated all these claims. I live in a place where I have average of 15 to 22 hours electricity and I know lots of people who live in places with 247 electricity. It snot that bad again things have improved in some places . With time we will get there It's foolish to be subscribing dstv when you live in a place without stable electricity... Blame yourself . Government is not accountable for tax revenues so the next thing is for citizens to leave the country in droves..... look for another excuse 2 Likes 1 Share |

Helgreenluv: Oga, there is nothing to humble a man abroad that hasn't been humbling men here in Naija. Let's stop lying and deceiving ourselves. I am neither in support of Japa nor against it. I simply dislike lies. If with all the subsidy and low taxation in Nigeria, we have over 70% of the population living in abject poverty, just imagine if we adopted the tax policy abroad in addition to total subsidy removal. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

As per the question you asked, do you mean say that you paid millions to go US/Canada just so you can afford three square meals? The millions you paid to Japa, those who have that same millions in their accounts in Nigeria can't afford three square meals? 1 Like 2 Shares |

1.) It's More Easier To Be A Dollar Millionaire/Billionaire In Nigeria: It depends, in Nigeria it's easy to make money off relationships and networking with the right people, while overseas, you'd have to be skilled, hardworking or be creative enough to be in a space that allows you to thrive. I run an agency, and because of being in the EU, I can network with founders easily outside Nigerian than being in Nigeria, because of the country's reputation. 2.) African Communal Living: I agree about this, Nigeria has a more communal and supportive environment, Westerners are myself and I 3.) There Is More Insecurity Abroad: It's relative, Malta is safer than Nigeria, and Nigeria is safer than America, it depends on gun policies and the environment 4.) Easy Access To Natural Foods: Natural food is true, but as for it being affordable, that will depend on the state, food in Lagos is very expensive, Food in the EU is very cheap, and there are farmers who grow produce to meet up demands for natural food. 5.) Favourable Weather Condition Throughout The Year: Agreed 6.) No Racism: But we have Tribalism which doesn't even make sense seeing that we are the same Nigerians 7.) Nigeria Better On Raising Cultured Kids: I agree on this, 8.) Nigeria Better On Entertainment And Fun Activities: Nope, I can travel to 26 countries in the EU at a fraction cost, there's activities here that are affordable compared to Nigeria especially lagos, things are far cheaper here, if you earn in dollars 9.) No Weird Or Crazy New Culture: I agree on this one 10.) Cost Of Living Is Cheaper: It's mixed, if you earn in Naira and convert rent to an inflated currency, everything will look expensive, I pay EUR 450 for a studio apartment that came furnished, it's not fancy to my apartment in Lagos, but I've seen 650 E - 1000E apartment here in the EU that come furnished, so if you earn 3000E rent and food will be very affordable, here I only pay rent $450, light bills 20 EUR (every 2 months), 16 E for bus pass that can take me anywhere within my district, you can leave an easy life. My rent in Nigerian was 2.25m, 20k every 2 weeks for light and 70k for monthly food (cooking) 11.) No Rat Race Or Extreme Taxation In Nigeria: This is subjective, I agree but for someone like me, I do freelance, my own business and working for a company, you can as well easily save money to set something back home, there's nothing stopping you from having the best of both worlds, I think Nigerians are the special group of people that enjoy having somewhere to go back to and build. This is my opinion, and my answers is based on my experience in the EU, obviously someone in Canada might face a more expensive cost of living and taxes.. 12 Likes 4 Shares |

Sounds like government propaganda. As for no racism, thats not true, cause all of Africa is run from Europe by racists, that is why africans are some of the most hardworking and intelligent people in the world , yet Africa is the most backward place on earth. In Africa the whole nation feels the racism, as the nazis who run Africa from europe try to make the citizens believe hyper inflation, kidnapping, banditry, and civil servant terrorists are normal things that should only happen where africans live. I certainly will not advice anybody middle class and above to leave Nigeria for a part of the world where they call you names like nigger and shit skin, cause you will find to your horror that they mean it, cause everyone of them from teacher to student manager and all will try to kill your career and end your life directly or indirectly What the Europeans means when they say black people, are bad shit skin people who are not supposed to exist. They run Nigeria where you can get your racism collectively or you can japa to get your racism on an individual level. If you middle class and above, think twice before trying to start a new life in the nation of those who hate Africans to hell and back. 1 Like |
