Canadians will be paying higher payroll taxes in 2024 because of the mandatory rising Canada Pension Plan and Employment Insurance contributions. If you earn $73,200 or more, you’ll be paying an extra $347 in payroll taxes in 2024, for a total tax bill of $5,104. Your employer will also be forced to fork over $5,524 in the new year. The federal government is imposing a new tax called “CPP2.” The original CPP taxes your income at 6% up to $68,500. The new CPP2 expands that threshold and taxes additional income at 4% up to $73,200. The carbon tax increases the price of gasoline, diesel and home heating fuels, which is a big deal in our vast, cold country. The carbon tax also makes groceries more expensive, as it increases costs for the farmers who grow our food and the truckers who deliver it. The carbon tax will cost the average family up to $911 in 2024 even after the rebates, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer. 2 Likes 1 Share

jakeroberto: It's all about demand and supply. Use indeed and check for most available jobs in your area and see if what you can do to get it. It might not be your background but with little training you can get a job. All the best |

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of one of us, @kingkhalil after a battle with gastric cancer. He was a resident of Edmonton and is survived by his parents, wife and young children. May his soul rest in peace. |

How did you arrive at $347? It’s only $188/yr which boils down to either ~$32 or ~$16 depending on how it is deducted from your payroll. Enculer2: |

Hi house, I have a sponsorship application in process to bring my wife over to Canada. We had a new baby in September and we raised a webform to notify IRCC. We got our baby' passport in Early November and coincidentally, my wife's application was approved. We sent an add on request to add our baby to the application the same day along with the imm008 and imm1344 forms. Also submitted the birth certificates, passport bio data page and application fee for the baby using a webform. We got an acknowledgement that the files have been added to the application but haven't heard anything since then. I'm a bit confused if there's anything we missed or should have done. If anyone can help clarify if there's anything else we need to do. Thanks. |

Hello my people, I just wanted you all to know that I am a realtor based here in Calgary, Alberta. For the new students looking for a place to rent, I will advise you all to use rentfaster and filter your search. Under the proximity put your school name and it will show you properties in close proximity to your school. 6 Likes |

Good day house, I have been a silent reader and follower of this thread and hoping to share my own testimony too. Please can anyone be of assistance in getting a new employer under the home support worker pilot? I have an ongoing application with ircc since 2020 and Dec last year we got a mail saying the current employer is not eligible simply because its an agency and not a private individual. We were given 3 months to come up with a new employer as procedural fairness. Our clock is ticking fast and it seems really difficult getting a new employer . The rep we used has equally not been able to change the employer. Please those of you already in there who can assist me with a new employer i will forever be grateful. Thank you |
