Yes I know Xtra power have their name engraved into the panels, though the Longi I got has its name engraved on the cables and the 3 connection boxes at the back. Obnoxious2001: |

Fake Jinko 140k for 575w Original Jinko 166k for 555w Original Longi 165k for 555w but I got the 570w for same price (as against 180k) as offered me a discount on the panels if I get them from them when I bought my inverter. EduTechTainMent: 2 Likes 1 Share |

For system with a separate CC, assuming your panels are generating 1kw of power and your load is 400w, the CC will push the 1kw directly to the battery and at same time the inverter will pull 400w from the battery leaving only 600w going into the battery for charging, same goes with the hybrid inverters so in both cases if the generated power is not enough to cater for the charging of the battery and at same time power your loads your battery will suffer. I currently enjoy the working without battery feature on mine as I switch of the battery during the day to conserve the battery for night use when there's no grid power, so the inverter only comes on during the day when the grid power is restored. When on solar panels my inverter comes on but will only output power when the generated power from the panels are greater than the load. kristien4: 2 Likes |

If only people can put in a little bit of energy and time in knowing all these before purchases, there will be less sad stories with RE. Kreamie: 1 Like |

kristien4: You question has been asked on this forum many times. Hybrid inverter or stand alone charge controller+inverter. The truth of the matter both are okay, but for safety always have a spare of a low budget of everything. Both inverter and charge controller. Hybrid inverters can fail , no inverter , no charge controller all at once . Your low budget inverter and charge controller comes into play pending to you fix it. Same with stand alone, the only difference one side may have a problem, let say your inverter, you spare low cost inverter comes into play . You continue story. In short through my personal experience , I never sell any of my gadgets after an upgrade, I usually keep them as back up..... in solar always be prepared for any disappointment... 2 Likes |

I have this Tactel/Chevron 15KWh LFP that is made up cells with terminals at both ends as in the picture. Is anyone here familiar with that kind of LFP cells? Are they available in the market?

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 6:38pm On Jan 01 |
adrusa: What type of LFP cells? S168 LFP cells? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 10:52pm On Jan 01 |
mctfopt: It may be a type of what is called "Blade Battery". It is longer than the normal LFP cells and have the terminals at opposite ends. |

Remember that in most lightning strikes, it is the electrical components that gets fried. The inverter or Cc do not explode. There is no electrical component in a lead battery. I am not ste if a BMS in a lithium pack is safe sha lovediehatelive: |

Happy new year everyone, big thanks to everyone who have always bin of help when we bring up issues here. I have come again oooo. This PHCN brouhaha last month where some areas had no light for over a week peppered me small and I av decided to add panels to my existing setup (afripower 1kva hybrid inverter with max amp/volts of 25 each and maximum connected panel wattage of 600w). Want to get 2 300watt panel cos of space and future expansion rather than 3 200watt but their voltage is over 30v, is there a way to step it down to 25v which is within safe limits? Getting a pwm seems a waste to me as the specs of most I av seen is similar to my inverter own and money for mppt never complete. Thank you πππ |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 5:16pm On Jan 02 |
Drgreatone: Buy a PWM. It's more cost effective, given the scenario you described above. |

Akbil: gotten? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 5:55pm On Jan 02 |
mctfopt:The inverter has an inbuilt pwm. Most pwm I av seen av max voltage around 25 too for 12v |

To the house, abeg, I am using a Fullriver 160ah battery someone recommended here 2 years ago and it did serve me well before it became weak. I would like to get another one, preferably 200ah. However, their website (idyllictechnologies/com) isn't going through and I don't want to fall to a scam. I saw their IG info (@Idyllic_Technologies) online but don't know how legit it is. Any help with their legit contact details as I have lost the one with me. Happy New Year! |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Valto(m): 3:35pm On Jan 03 |
micynute94:2yrs might be too short. the price of original 200ah fullriver, if u add small money will definitely get u a 12v 135ah or 150ah lifepo4 lithium battery which is far better and will last 8 to 10yrs. 7 Likes |
