The Supreme Court has ruled that the Federal Government has total control of all waterways in the country, including the right to levy and license operators in the sector. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nairametrics.com/2024/01/08/supreme-court-grants-sole-control-of-all-inland-waterways-to-fg/%3famp=1 4 Likes

God blesses people in different ways. For some, its water; others, oil, gas, gold, uranium etc. I strongly believe that such resources should belong to the locals who will in turn pay taxes to support the central. But Nigeria thought it was a bad idea. Now we have it. Every form of natural resources in Nigeria belongs to the federal government. It's common sense. Water cannot be excluded. 2 Likes |

The Supreme Court restored the judgment delivered on March 28, 2014, by Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Lagos. It reversed July 18, 2017, judgment of the Court of Appeal (Lagos division), which set aside the Federal High Court judgment. That appeal court dey craze . They wan use gbajue obtain federal property dash Lagos |

It's still pointless when you have inept leders in control... Water access could be made available like having cars and obtaining neccessary licenses with an extra for parking, Water paths can be demarcated using floaters and approved driving schools employed with mandatory equipments at all times.. multiple lighthouses could be built to light up the paths at night.. I should be able to have my jetski take me to work and back.. its not obtainable now not because of the lack these amenities but because the extorting police officers you have in our waterways is much more than what you have on land... on one of my contract supplies through the waters, has to pass 15 checkpoints excluding custom and immigration just between CMS and Kirikiri (Apapa) 1 Like |

Biased court, what of the VAT case, has been swept under the carpet, never seen a court so afraid to deliver justice on crucial matters, but when it comes to corruption cases or two fighting, they will deliver judgment sharp sharp. I hope a president will one day use Army to raid their residences like Buhari did the last time. 1 Like |

The federal government in Nigeria exists against the people. It is designed to siphon resources from the states on a federal government that is responsible only to itself. The federal government is designed in such a way that corruption is inevitable. This corruption them of course trickles back down to the state and local governments. Local communities have no say on resources under their territory wether it's land or water. Yet the federal government continues to lavish on the proceeds from resources gotten from the impoverished communities. As long as we continue in the present structure and constitution, this country is on a continuous backward trajectory. 2 Likes 1 Share |
