It doesnt have to be a tribalist to raise your own people up

OBJ was President 3 times, Who can we point to that was raised by OBJ? Awolowo will point to Bola Ige, Jakande, Ajasin etc, MKO will point to the likes of Tinubu. while Tinubu will point till his hands falls off

Who will OBJ that ruled longer than any of them point to?

Like I said that your MD uncle that will point you to company portal will also say he doesnt want to be tagged a nepotistic person. He knows what to do, and he does it for others just not him
The uncle in question views things from a transactional lens, and would rather wet ground for a friend that has done him a solid in the past, or that he knows would do him a solid down the road than do so for a relative who's best argument is entitlement.

Yoruba's had a candidate in 1999, and that person wasn't OBJ yet they can't say he gave appointments to favour one region and not another, their primary grouse was his appointments weren't skewed in his tribe's direction like it was with Buhari and like it is now with Tinubu.

The SW grouse with OBJ predates 1999 and there was a reason why he was not the choice of his own people in the election and why Falae was chosen over him
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 6:14pm On Jan 09
Since 1999, OBJ's government still remains the closest we've had to a truly Nigerian project and over time it has shown it was the period we enjoyed the most success in the country. Many will argue that his being able to see beyond tribal and religious sentiments played a big role in his success, and I won't fault that thought process.

No. There was a reason he lost his ward and LGA in 1999. The dislike for OBJ predates 1999

And if it were to be option A4, he wont have qualified

You can make the argument that OBJ doesn't know beyond OBJ's interest and how you'd serve his interest, but saying he has as a goal that no Yoruba man surpasses him is another thing altogether.

Its simply funny that every Yoruba person that aspired to become President never got endorsement and support of Obasanjo the very first Yoruba person to be President and spent 11yrs as president

You mean none of them was good enough when compared to the opponents

So what is the goal of National PDP to allow Wike (who is 1 leg in APC) to dictate their affairs unless its to lose

Wike is standing on Jagaban mandate, PDP National will want to win presidency in 2027. So how will that happen?

I feel like PDP has chosen the waiting game, play dead, wait for APC to implode, and then they make their play. I don't see any scenario in which Wike and his goons don't collect for this level of open treachery against the party, for PDP not to have acted, I want to believe it's them bidding their time. Atiku/Saraki/Tambuwal faction seems to have control of the party.
those niggas you called there are the real gees when it comes to PDP...

That talk of OBJ not wanting any Yoruba man to be greater than him his sketch, especially with an Awolowo who's widely regarded as the greatest Yoruba leader. Also, I'm sure he must have known from the get-go that the South West was next after Buhari given their role in ousting Jonathan, yet that didn't stop him from going against Jonathan. I will buy OBJ having grouse with Tinubu personally, but not the Yoruba race as a whole as is being suggested...reads like a milder version of the OBJ is an Igbo man story.
but why obj too like Igbos?

Even now, he frequents Anambra like say na him maternal home

He visited ed Owerri some days ago too

You know that for people like OBJ it'd be just as much (probably more) about his interests than it'd be about the quality of the candidate per se, it's just unfortunate that in his history pre-1999, the Yoruba candidates weren't serving his interests. Can't make any argument post-1999, cause the only strong Yoruba candidate has been BAT and his being a meritorious candidate was the weakest argument to present.

You go where you find love and warmth. OBJ lives in his home in Ota, Yoruba territory, he certainly can't restrict himself to the Yoruba states alone in order to prove his love for his Yoruba heritage.

Why is Davido always involved in all these type of controversy

E be like say his privileged upbringing denied him some real street action and he is always seeking for it
“The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with.

“And also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor. He has also told our mutual connections to warn me to be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up
.
https://www.nairaland.com/7964089/tiwa-savage-files-petition-against

I think it's the opposite. I think Davido has been adjacent to the street from relatively young, which is why his music is so popular. He could have gone down the route of other musicians from wealthy backgrounds like them Naeto C, Ikechukwu, or some of those alte niggas like Showdemcamp, BOJ etc.

Some of the stories I've heard are of a guy that was a bit of a problem child for his dad before music took off. I don't know when he blended but he carries 7 on his head and associates with some really grimy niggas.

The important thing is that the boy is extremely wealthy in a country where money is power, is from the right kind of family in a society where connections are a shield from consequence, and has access to dangerous boys ready to shoot for him in a land where the cost of a life is as cheap as a bag of eegbow.

I genuinely think the boy has the capability to touch his enemies if he wants to, and I believe he could very easily get away with it.

Obasanjo appointed equally brilliant people in his government , he just wasn’t fixated on their tribes while he was doing that . He wasn’t thinking of being anybody’s godfather while he was appointing them.

At least the prosperity experienced under his government is much more better than the so called talented people we have now that the country’s economy, security and stability is in comatose state.

I dont think someone like Davido with that kind of upbringing ever got involved in a real fistcuff fight growing up or seen where classmates will bring knife or portable axes to school.

Someone like Davido from British International School to Babcock he really never had real action, Maybe he saw it on TV and wished he was a part of it

You cant compare his growing up to someone like Olamide for Bariga wey be say them go send you to go grind pepper and some boys don already waylay you for street, chop small beating you no fit even report for house. On a regular

His 7 affiliation was probably bought or influenced shey na for Babcock he enter bush? You think say dem blend Davido like dem dey blend other people for bush? Some blending wey you go take leave of absence from school for 2months

if you have money and like wahala its easy to get eru-iku wey go die for your matter you can touch anyone, Na you go just decide to calm down and enjy your celeb status not to dey find wahala everywhere

You don't need to be from Bariga to be street adjacent, and you don't need to be street if you're from Bariga. Case in point, my family house is in Ilaje-Bariga, and I'm (was) street adjacent at best, and that's because my head generally no correct anyway.

When I was in naija, there were some levels I could handle myself or call in back up, at least up until a certain stage, before I clear road for real goons. My brothers carried UTC and Lebe to school in Igbobi, but they weren't street boys either.

I believe Davido was outside to an extent. I know many guys like him - rich background, at least one liberal or absent parent, and they end up being 'bad boys'. Not street boys, but bad boys. There's a difference.

I agree Davido most likely bought his 7, but he's still a 7, and one of their biggest ambassadors. Whether through donation, or likely through extortion, that organisation is heavily incentivised to go hard for him.

If Tiwa had goons, her ex wouldn't be disturbing social media with a coded cry for help, and she wouldn't have to be petitioning police.

The best she can do is make noise so that Davido fears public backlash if he tries anything rash. Otherwise, both parties would have kept it in the streets

Obasanjo somewhat deserves the scorn he gets from Ogun and Lagos people though. Ota roads were bad while he had a farm and was President. I can understand the intra-state roads, but the Lagos -Abeokuta highway was bad and kept getting worse. Only the Gateway Hotels/Tollgate part was befitting of a federal road.

I think Raumdeuter is right. All this one Davido is doing na because dem never shoot film for him presence before na. Na lekki e take join cult na.

If to say na normal streetz/school wey be say when small wahala happen everybody go travel and he don see plenty people fall before he no go dey move mad the way he’s doing. Even 2face idibia that year sef dem knack am.

If to say some of these privileged youngings grew in the late 90’s early 2000’s when they used to show Campus circuit on AIT where they will report how cultist attacks cripple academic activities in UNIBEN, LASU, Ekpoma , etc they will get sense and avoid cultism .

I never argued that OBJ wasn’t vindictive or didn’t supervise a government where there was political assassination.
