Few days ago, (7.1.2024), IDF troops detected a hostile drone near Rafah, an immediate threat to nearby soldiers. An IAF aircraft was dispatched to target the drone's operators. Subsequently, Palestinian media reported the deaths of journalists Hamza al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuria during this strike. However, IDF intelligence has confirmed that both the deceased were members of Gaza-based terrorist organizations actively involved in attacks against IDF forces. Prior to the strike, the two operated drones, posing an imminent threat to IDF troops. Mustafa Thuria, identified in a document found by IDF troops in Gaza, was a member of Hamas' Gaza City Brigade, serving as Squad Deputy Commander in the al-Qadisiyyah Battalion. Hamza Wael al-Dahdouh, is an Islamic Jihad terrorist, and was involved in the organization’s terrorist activities. Documents found by IDF troops in the Gaza Strip reveal his role in the Islamic Jihad's electronic engineering unit and his previous role as a deputy commander in the Zeitun Battalion's Rocket Array. 1 Like |

PM Netanyahu: "I want to make a few points absolutely clear: Israel has no intention of permanently occupying Gaza or displacing its civilian population. Israel is fighting Hamas terrorists, not the Palestinian population, and we are doing so in full compliance with international law. The IDF is doing its utmost to minimize civilian casualties, while Hamas is doing its utmost to maximize them by using Palestinian civilians as human shields. The IDF urges Palestinian civilians to leave war zones by disseminating leaflets, making phone calls, providing safe passage corridors, while Hamas prevents Palestinians from leaving at gunpoint and often, with gunfire. PM Netanyahu: "Our goal is to rid Gaza of Hamas terrorists and free our hostages. Once this is achieved Gaza can be demilitarized and deradicalized, thereby creating a possibility for a better future for Israel and Palestinians alike."

The UN Security Council overnight condemned ongoing Houthi attacks from Yemen on international shipping. As Arab media caricatures noted, it was a pointless exercise. The Houthis, of course, reject the criticism and the demand that they halt their aggression. Now we wait to see if the international community backs up its words with actions. IT

The UN Security Council on Wednesday adopted a resolution to condemn the attacks by the Houthi militia on merchant and commercial vessels in the Red Sea. Resolution 2722 condemns “in the strongest terms” the Houthi attacks on Red Sea vessels since November 19, 2023, when they attacked and seized the Galaxy Leader and its crew, Xinhua news agency reported. It demands the Houthi militia immediately cease all such attacks, which impede global commerce and undermine navigational rights and freedoms as well as regional peace and security, and further demands the Houthis immediately release the Galaxy Leader and its crew. The resolution affirms that the exercise of navigational rights and freedoms by merchant and commercial vessels, in accordance with international law, must be respected, and takes note of the right of UN member states to defend their vessels from attacks in accordance with international law. The resolution emphasises the need to address the root causes, including the conflicts contributing to regional tensions and the disruption of maritime security in order to ensure a prompt, efficient and effective response. It calls for caution and restraint to avoid further escalation of the situation in the Red Sea and the broader region, and encourages enhanced diplomatic efforts by all parties to that end, including continued support for dialogue and Yemen’s peace process under the UN auspices. Three Russian amendments to the draft, including the mentioning of the conflict in Gaza as a contributor to regional tensions, failed to be adopted by the Security Council. Resolution 2722 was adopted with 11 votes in favour, none against, and four abstentions (by Algeria, China, Mozambique and Russia). Amir T

The central unit of the Jerusalem District Police and the General Security Service foiled terrorist attacks planned by two terrorists supporting ISIS in East Jerusalem. The terrorists planned to prepare charges and explosive devices aimed at the security forces, however the police and the Shin Bet revealed their intentions and arrested them before their plans could be materialized. Hiding the truth: The signage companies in the Netherlands refuse to publish billboards with the pictures of the abductees The national information system, prepared an outdoor signage campaign throughout the Netherlands, to increase awareness of the release of the abductees from the captivity of Hamas. The campaign was expected to be launched as part of the multitude of information and public diplomacy activities surrounding the hearing of the petition against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands. [b]The billboards designed for the campaign presented different pictures of abductees, mentioning their names and the fact that they are in captivity in Gaza, under the caption "He\She can't testify today". The main message conveyed by the signage is the fact that 136 kidnapped Israelis are being held captive by Hamas and cannot testify today at the Hague Tribunal. [/b] These are victims and witnesses to the acts of genocide and crimes against humanity committed by Hamas, and to the war crimes they commit every additional day while they are captive to Hamas. It should be noted that an appeal was made to more than 10 different signage companies in The Hague, Rotterdam and Schiphol Airport, when they all refused to cooperate with LPM. During the work with one of the signage companies, the design language and the message that would appear on the signage were approved, but unexpectedly at the time when the signage was supposed to go up on the billboards, a message was received from the signage company that the advertisement was canceled. Despite the conduct of the companies, it is important to note that this is one component of a wide variety of outreach activities that will be carried out across Europe in the coming days. Amir T

The Turkish economy is sinking, and the dollar today for the first time passed the rate of 30 lira to one dollar. This is happening even though the interest rate in Turkey is at the insane rate of 42.5%, otherwise the Lira would now be at the rate of 80 Liras to the dollar. Turkey's annual trade with Israel is 10 billion dollars, which is very expensive for them. Turkey's trade with Iran - 5 billion. Fortunately, we only trade with the non-Erdoganian parts of Turkey.
