To be honest Christianity isn't the problem. We are foolish. Chile is an extremely religious country and even has religion Intertwining with politics and it didn't stop development. You couldnt even get divorced from your husband or wife until 2004 as it was against the bible. At a point in time it was illegal to not be catholic and not attend mass but it didn't stop anything. We are just foolish in Nigeria and Africa. Americans are very religious too and america is still developed. I have met very crazy religious people here and their faith is very strong. Honestly, even back then during the Renaissance periods in Europe a lot of the pioneers were very religious. One very good sculptor was asked why he was so efficient at his work and he said because if nobody is watching, God is watching. These guys did things with excellence. Look at European architecture from the very olden days and try to compare them to today. Religion isn't the problem. We are fools. Our traditional religion was even worst.

One thing to note from all of this is that secularity is basically a prerequisite to having a successful civilisation. Secular nations rule the world. All the nations that dominate our world whether that is technologically, militarily, politically, culturally, economically, socially and so on are either secular or irreligious. Examples include USA, UK, EU,Japan, China, South Korea etc.

Entirely untrue. If Nigeria is one of the top five worst countries, what about other sub-Saharan African countries? Honduras is a murder capital for crying out loud. They shoot there for a living.

Honduras’s crime is a tear compared to Nigeria. Nigeria’s crime is woefully underreported. Nigeria’s crime index is the 4th highest in the world.

Venezuela is better than Nigeria

If you wan compare Nigeria, use Honduras or Nicaragua

Nigeria HDI-0.531

Nicaragua HDI 0.584

Honduras HDI- 0.621

It’s an insult to Honduras and Nicaragua to even compare the two.

Honduras is safer than Nigeria. Crime rate in Nigeria is underreported. People are kidnapped and ransom is paid and it never makes it to the news. What of the killings going on in rural areas all across Nigeria. Many of such incidents happen and are unheard of in the news. At least when it happens in Honduras we all hear it. Look at what happened when a major drug lord escaped prison in Ecuador. It was all over the news and the army swept into action and he was caught. We had a prison break in Nigeria and till now we haven't heard anything regarding anything.

Nigerian elites have failed the country. That is why I don't rate them as intelligent. I see them as below monkeys. I really don't know, but nothing freaks me when I see an assembly of Nigerian elites. Nothing!

It’s funny people talk about how Europeans are the fault of Africa’s downfall. Afrocentrists and Pan Africanists are delusional. They act as if Africa was like the Garden of Eden before the Europeans arrived which wasn’t the case it all. In fact, in some ways Africa was worse before and after colonialism. In no way shape or form am I justifying European colonialism. It was overall bad and contributed to Africa’s demise. But a lot of Africa’s problems are internal. Liberals, Afrocentrists and Pan Africanists act like African would have made good use of the resources that the Europeans stole from the continent. That is not the case. The leaders would just have looted it even more so. There would just be richer elites.
Take a look at Abacha, That man died 26 years ago yet Switzerland is still sending back all the oil money he stole from the nation.

Africa is just a trainwreck. Calling it that is even wrong because it was never even on track to begin with 😅😂😂😂 Africa has all the resources needed for prosperity but it has and never will make good use of it.

Most of them are illiterates. its the same way educated Nigerians look down on south America and see it as a haven of drugs and gang violence.

Yeah Africa is nowhere Latin America. I can’t agree more with this. Insecurity is also far worse in Africa. Latin America has cartels, but Africa has cartels, bandits and insurgents

Bros bros. South Korea is great, but more developed than all European countries except Germany? That's a huge joke.

Only one nation is developed based on world standards in Asia. That's Japan. Hong Kong is part of China, so won't add it. Even Singapore though rich, can't be tagged developed on first teir.

So you mean South Korea is more developed than Switzerland, France, UK, Holland, Luxembourg(richest nation on earth ), Finland, sweden, Norway cheesy

They have nice infrastructure and a good tech space, but your statement is exaggerated

BS

And what the person is saying is true. Nigerians and Africans believe that the western world is the only part of the world that far ahead of them.

Nigerians are very delusional. They see Latin America and parts of Asia as being poorer than them. It’s crazy.

Yeah, that's how they were abusing one guy for giving birth to his son in Argentina during the last world cup match. If only they know the privileges of having an Argentinian passport. The passports people are even spending millions to buy no even reach Argentina own. These guys easily move to western countries like its their backyard but they dont like staying there. They would still prefer to go stay back in their countries. Imagine only 100 chileans applying for canada express entry grin grin, 26 applying for USA visa lottery and I can bet that a bulk of the people that applied are probably naturalized chileans and not natural born chileans. I have done my research and Africa is the worst place in the world for a human to exist. A lot of countries people look down on are far better than a lot of countries in Africa.

When looking at human development, the best African nations are on par with middling or poor ones in Latin America.

The West, East Asia is light years ahead of Africa.

The rest of Asia is way way way ahead of Africa.

Latin America is way ahead of Africa’s
